Hoping, anticipating something wonderful makes life’s challenges so much more tolerable. Looking forward to a trip? Meeting up with friends/family? Fishing? Be it this world or beyond, hoping for the future blessings promised helps carry us through, and helps motivate us in the meantime (like getting ready for swimsuit season 😳...definitely a diet/exercise motivator 😆)
Does life have you so busy it’s hard to make time god? Satan is the master distractor! Now is the time for us to prepare and hide the word in our hearts - creating a secret stash of nourishment we may need in the middle of the night.
There’s nothing like a mom’s love. It drives us to do things we wouldn’t normally do because sometimes those kids are too hard to resist. We just want the best for them, and God just wants the best for us. And sometimes that involves sitting in a boat in the pouring rain 🌧 ☔️🤷🏼♀️
We all have at least a few names, maybe a couple embarrassing ones too. Nicknames, terms of endearment, names our parents used when we are in trouble 😳... God has several names too, one for each need we have. And they aren’t nearly as embarrassing as our childhood nicknames. 🤦🏼♀️
Have you ever tried doing things your way instead of the “right” way? How did that work out for you? Following God His way makes a difference too, and there’s usually a method to the madness, even if we don’t see it right away.
In the habit of saving things for the future, but then they go to waste? Or trying to hold something for the future that really needs to be done now? Jump in, do it dirty, and let’s live life now!
Ever find yourself in a situation and think to yourself, “why did I do this to myself?” Like when you hate spiders and find yourself face to face with the creepy crawlers, but it’s your own fault. God certainly can give us strength in difficult situations, but he also gave us a brain to avoid difficult or tempting situations in the first place. And if we don’t learn the first time around, hopefully we do the second time around. 😉
Looking for ideas for summer fun? This week I’ve compiled a list of fun summer ideas for everyone. It’s a great time to have fun and create memories! No age limits required 😉 Playing together builds bonds and creates lasting happy memories. It also may just open doors to sharing a little more of God with those you love.
Happy Memorial Day everyone! Parenting is an exercise in coming through on both our yes’s and no’s. Maybe it’s fulfilling a promise of doing something fun, or maybe it’s gaining control after an indoor water fight...but being able to trust our words helps our kids trust God’s word too.
Sometimes the smallest things can leave unknowing impressions - on our kids and those around us. You never know what they might pick up on and start copying.
Waiting until the right time can allow a blessing to fully mature. Rushing the process can end up distasteful and rob is of the fullness God intended for us.
Have you tried something and failed? Or had something turn out less than ideal? Has perfectionism been holding you back from moving forward? Find freedom from the all or nothing paradigm - perfectionism or failure - and walk in grace embracing the journey despite the mess (which is how real life usually works, right!?).
When we hit rough patches or life throws us a curve ball, how would our lives and those of others change if we assumed others were doing their best rather than their worst?
Why on earth does it take 100 years to just get out the door and into the car? It shouldn’t, but yet it does. And the funny thing is usually there some fun or exciting on the other side waiting! And sometimes it isn’t just the kids 😳sometimes maybe we are dragging our feet with God.
There is the real thing, and then there are imposters. This holds for everything from food we find at the store as well as emotions relating to our spiritual walk. Join me as we learn how to fact check our feelings and use the promises of God to guide us.
When life doesn’t meet our expectations and when we get stuck in a cycle of consumption, we need to switch gears. Exercise contentment to break the endless cycle and minimize disappointment.
