This week, the duo dives into the 2022 film "Christmas Craft Fair Massacre," a bizarre horror flick set in Houston, Texas, where a Christmas fair becomes the stage for a coven of Satan worshippers plotting a demonic nativity.
Despite initial skepticism, Jamie and Steph find themselves unexpectedly charmed by Brett McCormick's campy, B-movie homage to Texas horror. They explore the film's self-aware silliness, appreciating its short runtime, witty dialogue, and intentionally over-the-top performances. From a Michael Myers-masked janitor to a satanic nativity scene, the film offers a delightful mix of absurdity and creativity.
Listen in as Jamie and Steph revel in the film's unapologetic embrace of schlock, with standout moments like a punk rock rendition of Jingle Bells and a malevolent magnifying glass. "Christmas Craft Fair Massacre" may not be a traditional horror masterpiece, but its quirky charm and playful spirit make it a holiday treat worth unwrapping.

This week, they dive into the 2013 anthology film Horror Hotel, a collection of stories originally released as a web series. Jamie and Steph explore the film's campy, sci-fi B-movie atmosphere.
While Steph appreciates the diversity and creativity within the stories, Jamie struggles with the film's visual aesthetics and the absence of a unifying theme. Despite their differing views, both hosts agree that certain segments, like "Brain Robbers in Love" and "Life After Men," stand out for their humor and thought-provoking narratives.
Tune in as Jamie and Steph navigate the wasteland between disappointment and delight, offering their unique insights on an anthology that, despite its flaws, showcases the talent and passion of its creators.
Join Jamie and Steph as they delve into the chaotic world of Tubi's horror selection with their unique brand of Tubi roulette. This week, their Thanksgiving-themed search leads them to the 2017 film Derelicts, a home invasion horror that sparks a lively debate. Jamie and Steph find themselves at odds over this grindhouse homage, with its nods to classics like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Devil's Rejects. Jamie finds the film lacking in professionalism and style, while Steph appreciates its gritty, nihilistic charm and dark humor.
The duo explores the film's polarizing impact, discussing its homage to 70s and 80s horror aesthetics and its portrayal of a dysfunctional family during Thanksgiving. Steph defends the film's creative cinematography and its intention as a dark comedy, while Jamie struggles to see past its gross-out tactics and lack of finesse. Despite their differing views, both hosts agree on one thing: the bizarre and unforgettable character of Turk, the teddy bear-masked maniac who steals the show.
It’s a very special bonus episode of the Untold Horrors podcast. Instead of mining the depths of Tubi for buried genre gifts, we’re wrapping the year with a rundown of our favorite holiday horror films — from essential classics to hidden gems to modern must-see movies.
In part two of our deep dive into Tubi's backwoods horror offering, we go searching for treasure only to find the lackluster 2018 American slasher/home invasions/survival horror He's Out There, directed by Dennis Iliadis using the Alan Smithee-like alias Quinn Lasher).
There may be a good reason Iliadis opted to remove his name from this film about a mother and her two young daughters getting terrorized by a masked maniac while vacationing at their remote lake house.
Having just celebrated Thanksgiving in America, we can tell you that it's not a complete turkey. But it's also kind of bland and unsatisfying in so many ways. It left us craving more. Listen as we slice and dice this strange bird.
Plus, stick around for our two bonus picks to see if 2016's campy queer slasher Pitchfork and 2007's teen haunted house slasher House of Fears end up being hot picks or if they leave us cold.
In part one of our deep dive into Tubi's backwoods horror offering, we take a chance on Butchers, a 2020 Canadian slasher film directed by Adrian Langley. It's about two sadistic brothers living in the backcountry who consider anyone who crosses their path to be dead meat.
While we were fully ready to roast this one, expecting it to be another horror hatchet job, we found ourselves delighted by its sadistic charms and warmed by its weirdness. This is one we were happy to carve up and serve to our fellow fans of backwoods/redneck horror. It's proof that Tubi does indeed have treasures worth mining.
Don't miss this episode; it sizzles!
We're mixing things up on the show! We've got a brand new format that we think is a lot more fun, and it allows you to play along with us. In this episode, listen along as we pick our Tubi films in real time. Find out what two main films will be unearthed for discussion and what two bonus films we chose for individual exploration. If you want to watch these films to avoid spoilers in our two-part deep dive, you can do so — or wait for us to tell you if each film is worth your time.
Be sure to stay to the end for a few backwoods horror recommendations, where we present some of our favorite underrated or underseen horror gems that are well worth checking out.
We hope you love the new format. Don't forget to tune into Part One and Part Two of this month's series, where we tell you if our Tubi picks turned out to be buried treasure or toxic waste.
Jamie and Steph go mining for Tubi treasures, exploring the world of school horror.
We discuss the 2014 direct-to-DVD, ultra-low-budget slasher written and directed by the infamous Mark Polonia, CAMP BLOOD: FIRST SLAUGHTER, and the 2019 manga-adapted Japanese horror film SIGNAL 100 about a classroom of high school students hypnotized by their teacher and programmed to kill themselves when exposed to one of 100 sensory triggers.
Do these blind picks pass the test, or are they complete failures?
Class is in session! Take your seats, and listen attentively as we get educated on more hidden Tubi horrors.
Jamie and Steph go mining for Tubi treasures, exploring the world of infected horror — that’s horror films where someone (or many someones) gets infected by some kind of disease or plague, and nastiness ensues.
Things get weird and icky as we determine if the 2015 Danish Horror film WHAT WE BECOME and the 2006 grindhouse oddity MAD COWGIRL are infectious delights or a plague upon viewers.
Both films made us think and gave us plenty to dissect. One film is a beautifully made arthouse gem with heartbreaking gravitas. The other is an ode sleazeploitation and Asian trash cinema while still being surprisingly smart and subversive.
Saddle up and prepare for a wild ride!
Jamie and Steph go mining for Tubi treasures, exploring the world of evil cults — mixed with elements of body horror, rape-revenge horror, and plenty of devil-worshipping weirdness.
May the Dark Lord guide us as we determine if THE HERETICS (2017) and SATAN'S CHILDREN (1975) are must-see holy grails or unholy celluloid nightmares.
PLUS, stay for the end for a very special dramatic re-enactment, ripped from the unhinged madness that is SATAN'S CHILDREN. On this episode, we're all going straight to "Jesus H Christ HEEEEELLLLLL!!!"
In this episode, Jamie and Steph go mining for Tubi treasures, exploring the world of insane asylums. Tune in as we determine if ASYLUM BLACKOUT and THE SHADOWED MIND are hidden gems or blunders not worth your time to plunder.
On our premiere episode, Jamie and Steph go mining for Tubi treasures, exploring the world of found footage. Tune in as we determine if VHS VIOLENCE: BOOTLEGGED and OUR TRIP TO BERRIBROOK are hidden gems or blunders not worth your time to plunder.
