So much so that the baby fowls coordinate their hatching by communicating with one another while they are still in their eggs! The range of subtle sounds the ducks make in their eggs is called pipping. Female ducks choose their mate based on their dance moves and attractiveness of their feather Ducks have regional accents that mimic the accents of people in their area. A study out of Middlesex University compared quacks of ducks in the heart of London and the countryside.
