Gilliam has founded and sold six companies since 1971, comprising if V.I. Divers Ltd, Ocean Quest International, AMF Yachting Group, G2 Publishing Inc, Divesafe Insurance and International Training Inc. As Vice President and CEO, he was instrumental in taking UWATEC Public in a sale for 44 million Dollars to JWA in 1997 and sold his publishing company ISCUBA Times and Deep Tech to Petersen/E-Map in 1999. His entrepreneurial success in the diving industry has made him a multi-millionaire. The aggregate value of his companies when sold was in excess of $80 million.

Alex introduced tech diving to the Philippines in 1993 and was the Philippine licensee for IANTD. For years, he performed deep recovery of valuable objects and victims of drowning. His experience has been called upon many times during disasters at sea. Today Alex mainly does commercial diving. He and his team are known to work in brutal conditions allowing him to observe early signs of DCS and reverse it using in-water recompression. Cave exploration remains his true passion. With a background in Geology, he is better able to appreciate the value of underwater caves.

Simon Pridmore is a best-selling author of scuba diving books, travel books and scuba diving travel books. His latest publications are Dive into Taiwan and The Diver Who Fell from the Sky, a biography of Palau diving pioneer Francis Toribiong.
Originally from the UK, Simon has lived in Asia for almost 40 years. He was one of the region’s first technical diving instructors in the 1990s and owned Professional Sports Divers in Guam. He and his wife Sofie currently live in Bali, Indonesia but spend a lot of time exploring other places trying, but failing so far, to find a cure for their itchy feet.
