In a mirror heist, Donna and Maddy try to steal Laura’s diary from Howard, which goes horribly. Leland’s hair turns white overnight, and he’s joined a barbershop quartet about it – and by the way, Maddy had a weird rug dream? It really freaks her out. She gets in an “act like Laura” contest with Donna about it. Other stuff: We learn about Ed and Nadine’s backstory. Bobby has a surprisingly touching moment with his father. Josie’s in Seattle… shopping? But a mysterious man wants to talk to her. The hospital food will kill ya. Dale Cooper becomes the world’s first cop to not try to sleep with a high schooler. Audrey pursues her investigation, following the trail from the Horne store perfume desk to One-Eyed Jack’s. Donna, James, and Maddy disguise Maddy as Laura to lure out Dr. Jacoby, but they’re being followed by Bobby, who’s being followed by... someone?

The investigation continues apace as Sarah Palmer's vision, a bust on Jacques Renault’s apartment, and bevy of birds answer some questions and raise even more.

After last week’s crazy cliffhanger, Cooper announces almost directly to the camera that his dream contains clues that will solve everything, but also that he forgot the most important part.

With the help of his colleague Albert and the power of throwing rocks, Dale makes some stunning advances in the case.

Dale and the viewer find a smattering of potential breadcrumb clues to Laura’s death, which raise more questions than answers.
