This streaming era has made it easier to find long out of print albums, or albums that were never released in the US. Not everything that has been released is out there, though. On this episode I discuss some of the albums missing from streaming, and what I think is the reason they are missing.
On this episode I talk through a hypothesis of mine...that the 3rd album is often the most important in an artist's career.
So...it's been a minute. But I'm coming back.
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know this is late. I told you I had a back-log of reviews I was going to bring you. LOL
This album did get brought back into the limelight recently when it was nominated for Album of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards. (The first nomination ABBA ever received!)

Rolling Stone recently released a new Best Singers list...with some notable omissions (and questionable inclusions)
Do lists like this even matter?
I discuss my history with similar lists, and give a plan using one of the lists moving forward.

The music industry has always been a rough business...but when your voice is stolen and given to someone more conventionally attractive than you? How do you react?
Martha Wash faced this...multiple times...and she fought back and WON!
Now...this is just my opinion!
I do think these artists don't have a dud in their discography.
Anita Baker
Garbage
Everything But The Girl
ABBA
On this week's episode, I bring you a Tricky 10 centered around cover songs. These are all cover songs I like better than the original. This is not to say the original version is bad necessarily, but definitely the version I would listen to the most.

No More "I Love You's" - Annie Lennox
If - Dolly Parton
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - Otis Redding
Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles

A compilation series with "Hits" of the day started to be released in 1998 in the US. Now! That's What I Call Music has continued to release new editions several times a year, also spawning spin off series.
On this episode, I (Trick) look at the second one released in 1999 and see how the songs hold up. (Pretty darned well to be honest...)

Housekeeping...
I talk about the channel, and what to expect moving forward.
**Warning...This episode contains a brief discussion of child sexual assault and how that impacts how I talk about (or don't talk about) certain artists***
I know...I know...This is a weird one. But little elementary school Trick listened to this album all the time. It had a big influence on my musical taste and gave me a window to explore other genres and bands.
On this week's Quickie Tricky I talk about The Gold Experience by The Artist Formerly Known as Prince
This album ended up in the news this week due to a possible settlement with the Prince estate related to a plagiarism case.
I love this album, even though it isn't perfect.
