Trailer
Travel. Let’s define that. Travel is: to make a journey; to go from one place to another, typically over a distance of some length and/or abroad. Many of my friends travel as a means to escape and to unwind. Some of my friends see travel as a luxury they can’t afford to experience, and that prompted me to establish my own travel company, Abiri Tours, that creates affordable international travel for Black and Brown families. I began teaching in 2007, but for the last ten years, I have traveled to 37 countries and have traveled with over 400 students and dozens of families. I’m not your typical traveler; I live amongst the citizens and fully immerse myself in the culture. As I travel the friendly skies sometimes there’s turbulence, and sometimes it’s smooth sailing, but it’s always an experience from which I can choose to learn. How do you define travel? My name is Ashley Scott, and I’ll tell you how I define it on this podcast, TRAVELING INCOGNEGRO.
