* In the Travel News, Sedona says no to the Golden Arches, Oakland is changing the name of their airport, again, and Hertz renters are furious over the company’s newest bogus way to nickel and dime their customers. Seems as though the new “return tunnel” is billing people for every little nick and scratch, including things caused by weather and the like.
* Our Smarter Traveler segment discusses airline ticket refunds: If you buy an airline ticket for a domestic flight at least seven days in advance, you can cancel it without charge within 24 hours of purchase, if you purchased it directly from the airline. * The California State Fair opens next Friday, July 11th. Tom has a complete update on the sights and sounds of the fair, including the new weekday hours, activities and entertainment.
* Travel Gal Sydney Schellinger is on hand to share tips from her recent trip to the Galapagos Islands. We’ve talked about this “bucket list” destination before, and Sydney has an update with some great information.
