Hello and welcome to Trash Talk with Count Binface, It's the smash-hit podcast from planet Sigma IX which is now available on Earth.
I've got a blockbuster of a new podcast - in a nutshell you can expect brilliant interviews and peerless analysis. It's a bit like The News Agents, but with fewer holidays.
Launched for the 2024 Election it was such a success I've decided to keep interviewing some of your Earth experts to find out more about your planet (so I can conquer you).

At last - the intergalactic meeting they've all been asking for!
One of Earth's top podcasters Alastair Campbell in conversation with Sigma IX's pre-eminent (and only) podcaster Count Binface.
After months of negotiations the chat tête-à-bin finally took place in Alaska and by the end of their meeting world peace had been restored, democracy was saved and Burnley had won the Champions' League.
No... none of that happened - except the conversation - that DID happen. Alastair was in France and Count Binface was hovering above Croydon (planning something big) and they spoke about the enormous success of The Rest is Politics, the need to disagree agreeably and Kier Starmer's first year in office. But most importantly of all Alastair applied his political playbook to the Count Binface campaign...
Frost & Nixon, Parkinson & Hull, and now Campbell & Binface.
Get a load of this!

This week's guest is Zoologist Jules Howard. He likes wasps, thinks a Silverback Gorilla wouldn't be any worse in power than our recent leaders, and has a zoological theory on why Reform voters exist...
... he really is the natural successor to Sir David Attenborough.
If you haven't hit 'FOLLOW' on this podcast yet then this really is the week to do it because YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS NEXT WEEK'S GUEST.
Enjoy!

This episode is GENIUS.
As ever. But this time it's also ABOUT genius - the subject of a new book by this week's guest the brilliant journalist, author and podcaster Helen Lewis.
How do we define genius, are we devaluing its use and do you have to be a troubled prick to be one?
All the answers and more are in the podcast - and also in Helen's book which you can find here
Her series on Radio 4 called 'Strong Message Here' is also highly recommended and much listened-to on Sigma IX - check it out.

On the Best Podcast in the Galaxy* this week is none other than the comic and dramatic genius Mark Gatiss.

It's back!
Series TWO of Trash Talk returns after a few months off... much like a Birmingham bin collection.
There are some HUGE names lined up for this new series - as Count Binface continues his quest to interview some fascinating humans in his quest to learn about humans... so he can conquer Earth.
Today it's best-selling author Sir Ian Rankin. Ian is our first Knight of the Realm on the podcast - so please show him some respect by listening right to the very end of the episode. Anything else is technically treason.
Some housekeeping - you might like to see the video of Ian's band 'Best Picture' - it's here
PLEASE leave us a review, and subscribe so that future episodes land directly into your podcast player.
Enjoy the episode.

What do Donald Trump and Postman Pat have in common? Well Pat has grabbed Jess the cat a few times and Donald... well we won't finish that.
What they REALLY have in common is they're both performed excellently by our guest - impressionist Lewis MacLeod. British listeners may know Lewis from his work on the BBC comedy Dead Ringers where he plays the voice of not just Donald Trump but also Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage. Imagine having to get inside those three characters!
That's why Lewis is the perfect person to speak to about understanding your Earth leaders.
If that's not enough he's also been in a Star Wars movie and you will not guess where George Lucas took him for lunch.
Enjoy the 40th episode of Trash Talk...

Are long-form news interviews dead? Not on my watch!
Who better to feature on our first long interview than an esteemed journalist who has held world leaders to account and fronted the UK's premier investigative journalism programme (at the time!). He certainly knows a thing or two about an interview.
In our chat we cover the state of news, what next for the BBC, who the f**k is watching GB News and I appoint Gavin to seat 001 in the House of Losers. Watch out Peers of the Realm... we're coming for you.
PLEASE... could you leave a review, give us a rating and follow this podcast. I won't be able to conquer you planet without it.

On this week's podcast is political commentator and co-host of The Trawl podcast Jemma Forte. Jemma recently worked with the political campaigners Led By Donkeys to take down Elon Musk on the side of one of his Tesla factories... that kind of heroism will definitely get you a spot on Trash Talk!
Mind you Jemma's also been the captain of her own space ship The Sub Zero... but you'll have to listen to the podcast if you want that sentence to make any sense.
If you're reading this then your thumb is only inches away from the 'Follow' button and the 'Review' button - it'd be almost as good as a vote if you could click on both.

Happy Super Bowl weekend to those who celebrate (which is a LOT of you).
Super Bowl LIX is expected to be watched by almost 200m humans (plus a visiting space warrior and Elon Musk). What makes it so popular? Is there anything to learn from its impressive marketing? Politics isn't afraid to borrow a bit of popular culture from time to time... so can we expect to see Kendrick Lamar rapping about democracy at next year's Labour Party Conference... or let's be realistic... Lemar. (American listeners feel free to Google 'Lemar' or 'democracy')
Sharing everything he knows about the Super Bowl is legendary American journalist Iron Mike Carlson. He shares why the Super Bowl became the top day in the US sporting calendar, what the players really think about the Half Time Show and pitches a new adults-only version of Ceefax. And THAT'S why this is the greatest podcast on your planet.

Dr Joelle Grogan is a legal academic, and an expert in the rule of law, working in the fields of EU and UK public law. She's also the presenter of BBC Radio 4's The Law Show.
At a time when the Rule of Law seems to have become more of a Gentle Suggestion of Law, when the leader of the free world is a convicted felon, we thought it was a good idea to get the biggest legal brain we know on the podcast to chat about everything legal.
If intense serious legal discussion isn't your thing - don't worry the next episode is a Superbowl preview. Don't say we don't offer variety here!

Well... here we go again.
President Trump - we salute you (not like Elon does) - you're President again. So to discuss what 'Trump: The Sequel' will look like we've invited Isaac Davy-Aaronson back to the podcast. As a supervising producer at US news network MSNBC and co-presenter of the excellent Déjà News pod he's seeing the political fallout of a second Trumpian America first-hand. It really does seem that Trump sees everyone in very simple terms - you are either a Faithful, or a Traitor. Where's Claudia Winkleman when you need her?
Enjoy!

Welcome to the first episode of 2025... and our final episode before President Trump: The Sequel is released.
Guest:
Sathnam Sanghera - author of Empireworld and Empireland - who started his career dressed as the Newsbunny on Live TV (If you know, you know) but has since worked for the Financial Times and is now an acclaimed author of the aforementioned books charting the impact of the British Empire. He's previously compared the world's big tech companies to the East India Company and has plenty to say about the worrying trend superpower showing empirical tendencies.

Merry Christmas Earthlings!
To celebrate your special day here's our gift to you - a bonus edition of Trash Talk. And in keeping (inn-keeping?) with British Christmas TV tradition it's coverage of a sporting event that took place weeks ago someone much sunnier.
Enjoy this episode, have a great Christmas, and we'll be back with more Trash Talk in the New Year.

Please note that this episode will self-destruct some time around 2090... along with the rest of humanity.
As COP moves on having once again failed to reverse the climate catastrophe playing out in front of us we speak to Matt Winning a climate scientist who delivers his environmental message through comedy. The perfect guest for this podcast.
Is this our Christmas special? Maybe. If it is, then what better message for humankind than the need to unite behind one common goal... saving your planet.

Did you know Count Binface has a croissant policy? No? Well who better to discuss it with than Bake Off winner Giuseppe Dell'Anno.
Yes - we've got on a well-timed band-wagon - but that's politics for you. Until there's a space for Binface on the This Morning couch this is what you're getting.
Anyway, enjoy the podcast - maybe even grab a cup of tea and a piece of cake for this one. Go on spoil yourself.

Let it be known - of the 650 MPs in the current UK Parliament, Wendy Chamberlain was the first to say yes to an interview.
The Member of Parliament for North East Fife, and Liberal Democrat Chief Whip joined us to discuss the Lib Dem election strategy, Trump, Kemi and of course... croissants.
Only 649 MPs left on our list. If you're an MP reading this then get in touch - you know where.

WTF?
Amy Hoggart spent much of the last two US Presidencies starring on 'Full Frontal with Samatha Bee' - but as you'll hear she's not thrilled at the result of the US Election this week... despite it's obvious potential for satire.
We won't lie... this isn't the most 'positive' episode we've ever recorded.
Never mind - the campaign to Make Earth Great Again begins here...
