'TRANCEforming Relationships' is a podcast that explores the power of relationships to transform people's lives – individually and collectively; positively and negatively. The podcast's hosts, Dr. Eric Spiegel and Dr. David Alter, bring their decades of expertise as seasoned health psychologists, relational therapists, hypnotherapists, teachers, authors, and highly regarded speakers, into this rich and wide-ranging podcast series about the trance-formative power of all manner of relationships. Relationships are the bedrock foundation on which life is built. The podcast, which features engaging discussions between Eric and David and with the many varied guests that David and Eric interview, explore surprising, far-reaching, and deeply meaningful facets of what it means to be human and "in relationship." Podcast listeners will learn about the nature of relationships from evolutionary, biological, neurological, psychological, and spiritual perspectives. They will learn how these perspectives show up in listeners' lives. Most importantly, because struggles and conflicts in life are unavoidable, Eric and David will provide useful, accessible, and inspiring perspectives and practices that assist people to form durable, flexible, and healthier relationships. The podcast will feature two new episodes each month. Examples of relationship-based topics the podcast will address include: our relationship with our neurobiology, where the role of curiosity, discovery, the known, and the novel are explored; our relationship with the process of change, a process deeply connected to the nature of trance and entrancing experience; our relationship with ourselves, whether between mind and body, or between parts of self; our relationship with our partners/spouses, where themes of safety, security, attachment, and connection in the presence of difference are examined; our relationship with the world of ideas, beliefs, attitudes, and fear, where the hosts explore polarization, alienation, demonization, and risk of violence; our relationship with global wisdom traditions that speak to core truths about life, love, and connection that, sadly, we too often disregard at our own peril; and our relationship with the world of nature and the larger world within which we all co-evolved, and how our evolutionary endowments still contain important keys for physical, emotional, mental, and relational health. Join us for a journey into the transformative nature of relationships by tuning into TRANCEforming Relationships, with Dr. Eric Spiegel and Dr. David Alter.
