TRACK! Episode 38 - Karl Welborn

This week on TRACK! We are delighted to be joined by a man who has just ran a marathon PB of 2.21.36 at the recent London marathon, a time good enough to secure him 7th place of the 40,000 mass runners and to win the V40 Abbots World Championship prize, Karl Welborn.

Karl has impressive PBs across a range of distances including a 67.54 HM at this year's Village Bakery Half Marathon and 14.47 for 5km at this year's Mid Cheshire 5km highlighting Karl’s continued progression in the sport having spent his youth playing elite level basketball.

Alongside his impressive running Karl works as an Occupational Therapist, a job in which he works with individuals recovering from serious conditions and physical injuries. Karl also coaches athletes and is the proud founder of the training group Team Marathon Road, a selection of runners chasing their own goals and PBs in the sport -  so we’re delighted Karl  has joined us here at TRACK!

In the pre-show George takes us through his amazing performance at The Great South run where he finished in 10th place running a time of 49.59 and we cover the usual results and news from around the running world. Thanks for listening, we hope you enjoy. X
