I selected this topic to construct my podcast because as a member of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the typical “fraternity” man identity negatively plagues our community. Specifically, stereotypes of what a “frat guy” should act, communicate, and dress. I think furthering education about masculinity formation and development in social fraternities will help remove some of the forced expectations that are placed upon men. I noticed a need for this issue to be addressed when I instituted tighter regulations as a council leader on event attendance.

I noticed a need for this issue to be addressed when I instituted tighter regulations as a council leader on event attendance. As my scope pertains to woman, I restricted the ability to attend events that lacked proper social registration. I discovered through this that men seemed to feel undervalued because there was a lack of women at their parties, which sparked my interest in investigating this topic further
