Episode 141 with Adi Birrell on how as a self confessed journeyman coach he brings about positive change in the players he coaches through authentic leadership and honest credibility
Adi's first experience of coaching was in south African townships in 1986 where he wasn't a very popular figure simply because he was white. Post Mandela's release he got involved in coaching the Eastern Province youth from U13-18 and from there got into coaching at the top level of the game. He is from farming background and never played first class cricket so uses his love of the land and wildlife to help him create messages and build themes fit for purpose in cementing team values, develop togetherness and address challenges and has never looked back.
