Dredging is something that is rarely talked about but can have a huge effect on the environment. It is a common practice in South Florida, for the purpose of renourishing beaches in an effort to keep the tourism economy strong. Currently, there is a dredging project that will take sand from the Haulover Sandbar in order to renourish Bal Harbour Beach, which led me and my co-host, Cam Dobbs, to look further into the history of dredging in South Florida.
