In this episode, Freya and special guest Danny delve into the details of the opening weekends in the FA Women's National League (Tiers 3 and 4 of the English football pyramid) and the top two divisions in Scotland (SWPL and SWPL2) covering a staggering 46 games.
The duo discuss standout player performances, introduce viewers to the 'ding-dong' of the weekend and highlight the newly promoted clubs in the leagues and how they fared on Matchday 1. Freya and Danny also discuss the different dynamics between the leagues and most importantly discuss the crucial role of grassroots football in the women's game.
Freya and Danny highlight the importance of going out to support your local club and praise the resilience of players in the face of online trolling which is unfortunately now more common as the women's game is growing.
