Hi and welcome to the Well Well podcast! I’m your host Ilona and I share how you can live a natural, healthy, life. Tiny, daily habits make up a healthier home and body. I am not a doctor, but have been practicing the natural lifestyle most of my life and love encouraging others.
The high altitude, mineral dense resin that’s so good for you. As the sun heats up the rocks, the tar like substance leaks slowly through the porous rocks. An excellent antioxidant, it also detoxifies against heavy metals. The main component in shilagit or as it is also known as Mumijo, is fulVic acid. Great fatty and amino acids content and plant sterols. Shilajit is so rich in goodness, over 80 vitamins and minerals. No wonder it has been used safely for centuries. A little known fact is that shilajit is a great catalyst to boost the strength of other herbal supplements.
This precious substance is harvested in the Altai, Himalayan and Caucasus mountains. I get my mumijo that is harvested in the Altai mountains which is one of the purest places on earth.
The best way to consume it is by scooping a pea size of the tar with a porcelain or wooden little spoon and stirring it into half a glass of room temperature water. Best way to consume liquids is warm or room temp so make sure the water you use to dissolve your shilajit is at least room temp. Resist taking the convenient route and getting your shilajit in tablet or powder form. It might go through a process of high heat losing some of the quality. Get Mumijo in a dark, glass jar that is pure and wild harvested. The taste isn’t bad, it’s pretty tarry. But if you want you may dissolve it in tea, aloe Vera juice or warm milk or just put it under your tongue to dissolve.
Some individuals experience benefits in a week and some feel a difference immediately. Benefits are different and wide ranging for each individual.
If you are always curious like me, you can find a video of how mumijo is extracted by soaking the rocks. I find the whole process from rock to resin fascinating.
As with any habit, it takes about 6 weeks to form, so pace yourself and add good, daily habits over the course of some time.
Til our next episode, give thanks to Creator God Adonai, practice good habits daily and be exceptionally healthy my friends!
