Grant’s back! And we are gearing up for a hot ass summer on The Block with a ton of new shows incoming as well as the HEAT! I think we are ready for it… almost… We catch up on the last couple of weeks events and also get to talk all things DJing like our latest endeavors in the wonderful world of “people that make requests” (just a tip, don’t make one if it doesn’t make any sense with what’s already playing). We have some signs posted in our venues know that politely ask to try your best to enjoy the night without having to bother the DJ doing their jobs. Also another pro tip always make sure when you are leaving the clubs late at night to always have a buddy with you to get you to your car or you can always ask one of our Corner Bar security guards and they will gladly get you sorted for your safety.
We have a very special guest in the studio with one of our favorite local minimal producers and friends SKYE coming through to let us know all the great things happening from her latest releases, upcoming shows, her latest production tools, and also lends her vast knowledge of producers to help the conversation stay on track with facts! She’s definitely help put eyes on the female minimal tech scene as an absolute weapon and trust us she knows her shit and we are 100% here for it the whole way through. Grant is gone this week taking a little break to recoup from his and Shauns trip to Movement Detroit. Shaun was able to give us a little recap of some of his favorite highlights from the massive festival that took over Downtown Detroit for the weekend and we will catch up with Grant next week to get his take as well to round out the full recap. I get to chat a little about our recent trip to the 808 with my daughter and her mom and step dad thanks to Make A Wish Nevada. What an amazing experience we are super grateful for we got to do so many amazing things including a last minute booking at Bar 35 from linking with the homies through my brother and partner DJ Shr3d (shout out the Hawaii connect DJ LV and Joseph Future!). We had such an amazing time and cannot thank Make A Wish enough for giving us this opportunity.
Taking 530’s seat this week is a Very Special Guest who has been an integral part of the bass scene in Downtown Las Vegas for the last 8 years the man himself Lonnie Hill aka Lion Eyes. A long time coming we get to catch up with Lonnie on all things promotion and get a little teaser of some of the biggest bass shows to hit downtown coming up this year including a smasher this coming next week and the much anticipated return of DOOM TOWN LV. Grants gone! But we have a very special guests sitting in this week who we get to chat with about all things happening after hours for his monthly event at EGO nightclub to EDC and then everything I’m between and coming after. This week we have one our favorite producer/DJs in the hot seat the one and only Korsky. The bois talk about his journey trough the days of trudging vinyl around to working the local Vegas DJ circuit all the way to the present grind doing it 100 and going the producer route and making his own originals.
Its EDC week! FML its going to be a long one, unfortunately we will not be attending but Korsky will be front and center getting the full experience this year thanks to his good homie who he’s worked with in the past and will be continuing into the future. We are back finally after a much needed little break with Grant landing back in Sin City via Detroit and then going straight into Cinco de Mayo weekend shenanigans. We finally get to all sit back in the studio and catch up on all the things as well as welcome two very special guests this week Brock G and A.C.esme in the hot seats talking all things Bodywork LV for their upcoming 5 year anniversary aka Bodyversary at Discopussy! Also a big congratulations goes out to Ashe and her now wife for tying the knot this last week in none other than the Neonopolis itself! We were more than stoked to sit down and talk about why they do what they do and how they view Bodywork as not just an event but a safe space for all to come and be themselves or even leave themselves at the door for a night and become anything their heart desires. Much love to our LGBTQIA+ community and we are hoping to see many more events involving the culture on the radar in the upcoming future in downtown Las Vegas. We made it back from Coachella! We made it to Season 5! How many seasons of anything get better with a season 5? We have another Very Special Guest in the building non other than one of our favorite Corner Bar AV crew and residents at one of the hottest downtown venues in DTLV, the one the only JDHD. We get to know a little behind the mind of one of the fastest up and coming DJs in the scene from his music stylings in the open format world to his super popular K-Pop night he puts on that goes absolutely bananas with the kids. Did someone say Coachella? I’m sure you have heard it for the last month that everyone and their moms will be heading to Palm Springs the next coming two weeks to get extremely lit and sun burned out on the Empire Polo fields for the first official kick off Festival of the actual Festival season… COACHELLLLA. Grant is gone! He’s still here in spirit but taking his seat this week is a long time friend and a longtime downtowner and all around dope dude Dana Anderson. Dana is one of the originators of The I.S.I. Group (industry Supporting Industry) who have their hands in all things Art Mural with pieces spanning the entire city with some of the most renown artists in the city on the roster. Chances are of you have seen a dope mural in Downtown Las Vegas or at any cool local bar/shop around town it might very well be an I.S.I. curated piece. We get to dive a little into what Dana gets involved with in the city doing murals for new and upcoming place as well as OG spots around town that are still doing rad stuff as well as his side venture int he skateboard world making sick grip tape that you can find in most any local skate shops around town to now even the clothing giant Zumies. We also dive into wats happening on the block this week with the return of Space Yacht coming to bang out La Mona Rosa’s Function One sound system, to another dope weekend on Fremont with events at Discopussy and We All Scream as well as all your favorite Corner Bar Spots.

Episode 4 of season 3 we jump right into our recap of last weekend with Justin Martin and Jess Bays bringing the action to the block! Jess even decided to stick around for the week to check out some of the up coming shows like tonights Club Soda with non other than A-Track and The Magician going back to back on the ice cream truck in the backyard at We All Scream. Talk about a start to a crazy weekend were we have one of the biggest shows to date happening at Disco Pussy along with a jam packed line up of talent coming through all our properties all weekend long including a Chicago House legend bringing a Disco party to the Cone on Saturday night to a Redbull 3Style champ coming by way of Brazil to grace the decks on Sunday night at Cheap Shot.
We want to extend our condolences to the ROAD podcast family and the friends and family of the late Evan Boyd aka DJ Neva who was one of the best humans to ever do it in the industry. Rest In Peace Black Panda.
