This case comes from Mississippi and specifically, Tupelo - interestingly, the birth place of Elvis Presley.
Leigh was just 13 when her mum, Vickie, left her at home to go to work one day, with a tropical storm on the horizon, her mum called Leigh to check she was ok. She didn't answer the phone, so Vickie left work to check on her daughter. When she returned home, Leigh was gone and the house was covered with blood.
With multiple suspects but very little evidence, Leigh's case remains unsolved over 33 years later - with police and her father believing she has been murdered, and her mother praying she was missing.
This case takes some twists and turns on the way - with multiple polygraphs offered and taken, some passes and some fails and two main theories both leading no where, a body found that was confirmed as Leigh's then retracted.
This episode does discuss child abuse, extra precaution should be taken when listening.
