075: Death Race and What was Learned with Ally Robinson

In this episode of the Tribe Runners Podcast, host Liz Myers talks with ultra runner and coach Ally Robinson about her powerful transformation from a life in ballet to the extreme world of ultra running. Ally opens up about using running to reclaim confidence and purpose after a difficult chapter in her life, and how the sport became a lifeline for healing and growth.

She also offers insight into the supportive yet rugged community that forms around these experiences.

Looking ahead, Ally sets her sights on the Across Florida 200, a new frontier in her ultra journey. Throughout the conversation, themes of mental toughness, community, and the evolving meaning of “tribe” in the endurance world take center stage.

074: My First DNF: When Injury Takes You Out

In this episode of the Tribe of Runners podcast, Liz Myers (thats me) opens up about one of the hardest moments in my running journey. DNF'ing for the first time in H9: The Dragon’s Spine.

After the months of focused training and race-day excitement to the unexpected ankle injury that forced me to stop, I shares the raw emotions and difficult decisions that came with stepping off the course.

I reflect on the lessons learned about listening to your body, balancing ego with long-term health, and finding strength in the support of friends and family.

Remember that a DNF doesn’t define you. It’s just one chapter in a much bigger running story. And.. .it is not what has happened to you that matters. It is what you do with what happened to you that makes. Make it count!

Thank you to everyone that has reached out! I appreciate you all!
