The Tom Roten Show
Opposing Perspectives; Civil Discourse
Beginning Oct. 1st, the City of Ashland, KY (where I host my morning radio program) started parking enforcement. Previously, parking was completely free in downtown Ashland. Now, starting at 9am, if you're parked for more than 2 hours, you're subject to a $5 ticket. In trying to avoid a ticket, I have now been leaving the city earlier, which means I don't stick around for lunch anymore. Last Friday, after eating at an establishment outside the city limits, I thought to share my perspective with a short Facebook video that went viral. Some folks had a different opinion (which is totally acceptable), but I also took some heat from them on social media. But rather than a back-n-forth online (which gets you no where), I invited a couple of the detractors to have a civil discussion in the studio. After schedules were worked out, we had just that in the studio, on my morning radio show. Bryan Hall, owner of Bluegrass Collectors & Josh Blanton, former City Commissioner, joined me for an informative show.

WVU Prof Preaching False 2A Doctrine
WV Delegate Chris Anders says "not one more dime until the indoctrination stops". The GOP lawmaker from Martinsburg is exposing WVU Professor Matthew Harris teaching students that the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with personal ownership of firearms. Clearly that is NOT what the 2nd Amendment says and Anders says funding should be cut off for colleges that continue this unconstitutional instruction. Anders comments on the gov't. shutdown and warns that the ATF is creating a national gun registry. He has a bill to ban that in West Virginia. Chris Anders was my guest on The Eagle - my morning talk radio show available to listen live on the Total Media app.
