He recently received his own Shrunken Head at The Golden Tiki in Las Vegas, an honor bestowed on those who've made a significant impact on tiki culture. Hurricane Ian hit Florida Sept. 28, 2022, followed a couple weeks later by Tropical Storm Nicole, which turned into a Cat. 1 hurricane, on November 12. The TIKI FREAKS crew flew into Florida that week from across the country to attend different weddings--the timing couldn't have been worse! Our luggage was lost, our flights diverted and canceled, the power was out, and our hotels screwed...So, naturally, what did we do ? Mixed tiki drinks, of course!
