For the final part of his Batman 89 review, Alex takes a look at the various themes for Gotham Cities many locations in this film, along with discovering a score for the batmobile, and reviewing the many Prince tracks used in this film. Alex discovers more similarities between the music for Batman and film composer, Bernard Herrmann, who is one of Elfman's biggest influences. Plus, a common thread between Prince's music and Danny Elfman's music that were both used in the film. I hope you enjoyed this Batman 89 review and this is only the first of many superhero soundtracks that will be reviewed on this show! Batman 89 Review - Part 2
Continuing the second part of his Batman 89 Review, host Alex Robson takes a look at the many scores for the Joker in this movie and the love themes that Vicki Vale has with not just Bruce Wayne, but the Joker as well. Alex compares the eerie scores of the Joker to another famous deranged killer, as he takes a look at Bernard Herrmann's Psycho score and discovers many similarities between the two. Alex also takes a look at the bombastic and bouncy waltz that Elfman composes for the Joker and compares it to a very famous waltz that's similar in composition and structure. The love theme for Joker and Vicki Vale is a song that most will recognise, but maybe not realise is actually in this film, and plays like a lullaby when the two cross paths. Whilst the love theme for Bruce Wayne and Vicki Vale is almost a direct copy of another love theme in an Alfred Hitchcock film, also composed by Bernard Herrmann. It's another episode full of music, facts, and discoveries that even the biggest Batman fan probably doesn't know. Enjoy!
