Laura is BACK, BABYYY. Reunited at last and it feels so good, Laura and Jonny recap the last few months of Laura's absence and God's faithfulness. We share all about where we have been, how we feel about the business, and talk about where Streamline is headed in the future.
I've been using a "globo-gym" (a traditionally equipped, fully commercial gym) for over a decade, but this year, I've officially made the jump to training EXCLUSIVELY from home. In this episode, I lay out the pros and cons of each training opportunity, why I specifically landed on training from home as the premier place to work out, and why I believe ALL parents should consider using the home gym as their training "home base".
How long is too long to diet? Many people begin a diet because they have some fairly lofty weight loss goals (they want to lose 30+ lbs), but is there a time limit on how long you should pursue that goal at one time? In this episode, Jonny discusses how to know when your diet has run its course and what red flags you should keep your eyes on as your diet progrrsses.
Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt disappointed that you hadn't made more progress, even though you've been working hard? I've found myself in that position, even while working out 5-6 days per week and keeping a close eye on my nutrition.
This episode is tailored toward people in the season of life that I find myself in - married with young kids and a plate overflowing with responsibility. It's a season full of responsibility and challenge, but also one in which many find themselves feeling a bit behind for some reason, even when it comes to their health and fitness. The root issue? A culture of "MORE" and our own internal struggle with contentment.
Momentum is perhaps the most significant driver of long term success for any health or fitness goal, and yet it can often feel fragile. Inevitably, seemingly unforeseeable setbacks arise that threaten to dampen our progress and halt our momentum, and of all setbacks, 3 are the most pervasive. Thankfully, for each of the 3 setbacks, there's 1 high-powered solution to help you keep forward momentum in a world working against your progress.
If you've been training hard for a while, you've likely found that some muscles tend to respond to your style of training more quickly than others. Perhaps your quads are growing steadily, but your calves or hamstrings seem to stay perpetually the same size. It can feel stupefying at best and downright disheartening at worst! Today, however, could change all of that, because you just may be 1 strategy away from solving that nagging problem.
For many people, getting to the gym is half of the battle when it comes to working out. But once we finally drag ourselves to the weight room, we're faced with a second problem - how do I go from a cold, stiff employee to a warm, focused exerciser? That's where the RAMP protocol comes in...
"Maingaining" is having its heyday in the fitness space. People have even begun to decry the traditional mode of muscle growth, the caloric surplus. But who are these methods even for? And how could they be used to effectively help the average person feel and look stronger, more athletic, and more confident? Find out today!
If you've been on a weight loss journey, doubtless you've encountered this scenario. You're several weeks in and have been enjoying consistent weight loss, when suddenly, the scale stops moving downward...for days at a time. What the heck happened?! In this episode, Jonny dives into 3 potential scenarios that could cause your diet to stop in it's tracks.
We're back! after a long hiatus, the Streamline Training Show is back with a new episode. Today, Jonny talks through his favorite way of simplifying a problem that feels a little too confusing, frustrating, or too close to home with a method known as "inversion." This might be the unlock you've been waiting for to get back on track!
The holidays are upon us and that means travel season is in full swing. Many of us will be jet-setting across the country this season, and this presents a pressing dilemma: how in the world am I supposed to stay on track with my fitness when I'm traveling so much?
We've got you covered! This episode is dedicated those of us who want to keep making progress even while we change locales for a few days. If you've ever struggled to keep up your fitness routine while on the road, this episode is for you.
If you've been in the gym and felt something pop, "tweak", or even pull, you know just how frustrating it can be to try to come back to the gym the next day (or even the next week). Either you feel like giving up because you "always get hurt" when you exercise, or you try to keep exercising and find that everything you do seems to make your problem worse.
What's the solution?
We're so glad you asked! In this episode, Jonny and Laura break down the basic steps you need to take the next time you find yourself dealing with an injury that threatens to derail your fitness goals.
The average American gains 1-2 lbs over the holiday season, with some gaining up to 5 lbs in the span of just about a month. This has become a common trope to poke fun at amidst our culture, but for many of us, this potential weight gain represents a clear and present threat to our health or, at the very least, our goals.
What can you do about it?
We're so glad you asked! Today, Jonny and Laura discuss how you could actually LOSE a few pounds while enjoying your favorite foods this holiday season. If you're interested in partying hard and dropping pounds this holiday season, stay tuned!
The term "Hybrid Athlete" is all the rage these days. People are touting themselves as Hybrid Athletes, and promoting running and lifting as the best ways to look lean, muscular, and fit. But how does it actually work? What's the big mystery? Can't you just lift some weights and go for a jog?
Today, Jonny breaks down who should (and should NOT) consider taking the plunge into the world of the "Hybrid Athlete" and how you can do it without breaking yourself in the process.
