King Dasarath of Ayodhya decides to perform the Ashwamedha Yagna to pray for a son. On Sumantra's advice, Dasarath brings sage Rishwasringa to Ayodhya to conduct the Yagna and fulfill his wish.

The great sage Rishi Valmiki composed the epic poem "The Ramayana". He teaches his disciples, Luv and Kush, to sing the poem as a song. Luv and Kush travel to Ayodhya and sing the song in the court of Lord Ram.
