Are you entering a new season of quiet at home — maybe as your children step into college, new schools, or simply more independence? The rhythms of our homes change, and the stillness can feel unsettling. But what if this is not an ending… but an invitation?
In today’s episode of The Soul Journey Podcast, Sherrielynn weaves together faith, scripture, and story to remind you that God restores what feels faded. Using the image of the flamingo — whose pink color fades while nurturing her young but returns once they’ve grown — we explore how the “empty nest” season is actually a time to rediscover yourself, your passions, and your God-given vibrancy.
Through a grounding meditation, a breath prayer from Jennifer Tucker’s Breath as Prayer, life-coaching insights, and reflection on JJ Heller’s song Learning to Let Go, this episode invites you to: ✨ Find rest in God’s presence through stillness and breath. ✨ Release fear and embrace trust as you let go. ✨ Reconnect with old passions or discover new ones. ✨ Step into this season not as loss, but as renewal.
✨ Weekly Practice
Choose one small way this week to “get your pink back” — whether by trying something new, revisiting an old passion, or simply pausing to breathe with God.

In episode 39, we dive deep into the idea of listening to God’s nudges, even when they don’t make sense. A song that beautifully captures this theme is “Word of God Speak” by MercyMe. The lyrics remind us of the power of God’s voice in our lives, encouraging us to be still and listen: “Word of God speak, would you pour down like rain, washing my eyes to see Your majesty.” Just as the song suggests, sometimes we need to quiet our hearts and let God’s Word guide us, allowing His voice to be the compass that leads us through life’s uncertainties. Let’s take a moment to reflect on how we can make space for God to speak, and may this song inspire us to tune in more closely to His gentle whispers.

Salvation Prayer:
Friends God has put this on my heart… if you are listening today to this episode and you have not received Jesus into your heart then let me help guide you to welcome him into your life.
You just need to say these words out loud and believe them with all your heart…it is just between you and our Lord
SAY THIS
"Dear Heavenly Father, I come before you in humility, recognizing my need for a Savior. Your Word says in Romans 3:23, 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.' I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness.
I believe that Jesus Christ, Your Son, died on the cross for my sins, as stated in Romans 5:8: 'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' I believe that Jesus' sacrifice was enough to pay the penalty for my sins.
I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10. "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. I acknowledge Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I surrender my life to Him.

In this incredible episode, I can't wait to take you on a personal journey through the unforgettable experience I had at the Love Is Magic event in Knoxville, Tennessee. Picture a room filled with women eager to lead godly lives with intention and purpose, and you'll start to grasp the magic that unfolded before my eyes.
During this event, I witnessed the power of building each other up and growing in faith alongside like-minded individuals. These women, with all their flaws, scars, and imperfections, showed up for themselves and each other in the most beautiful way. We laughed, we cried, and we hugged—a lot! It was a safe haven where we felt seen, known, and embraced by the Holy Spirit.
One person who deserves special recognition is my life coach, Dr. Edie Wadsworth, the visionary behind the Life Mentoring School. Her teachings on renewing our minds, living from our true selves, and escaping the grasp of the false self have been life-changing. I can't recommend her Christian life coaching program enough—it's been an absolute game-changer in my life.
During the episode, I share passages about growing faith with like-minded people and the importance of prioritizing God above all else. We delve into the lyrics of the song "First Things First" by Consumed by Fire, a perfect fit for capturing the essence of the event and this podcast episode.
