There is indeed more than one way to lose your heart...literally. We wrapped up our Love Hurts valentines series with the 1981 holiday slasher classic My Blood Valentine. We unmask the legend of Harry Warden, the original anti-Cupid with his pickaxe, and chat about the films charming characters, amazing practical effects and some safety tips on how to survive a kinky underground hookup in a mask and overalls.

This week we recapped Spring, a 2014 movie directed by filmmaker duo Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson. This film forms part of our Love Hurts line-up, but we're reminded that sometimes love is complicated. This is your 'Before sunset meets Lovecraftian with a bit of The Thing' mixed into the equation, so if any of those are your vibe, you'll enjoy this charming romantic horror.

This week we recapped Fresh (2022) as part of our Love Hurts line-up. Ladies, has a man ever made you feel like a piece of meat? Then this is the movie for you... Highlights of the episode include discussions on connecting beards, the "right way" to eat a lady (wink wink), and how sometimes true love is the friends you made along the way.

It's a new week, and we're back with our final episode for our Vampire-themed month. We recapped one of our all-time favourite vampire characters in the 1998 action-horror movie Blade, directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer. We were thrilled to see Wesley Snipes back on our screens, his amazing performance in this classic, showcases he was a creative genius before his time!
Notable highlights: True to nature, we start our episode with a segue, but we find ourselves back on track. Wesley Snipes would've been an interesting Black Panther, please invite us to a "Blood Rave" in da kluurb - we're all Fam-pires!!

We're continuing our vampire theme this week with the 2002...classic?... Queen of the Damned. Nothing makes sense, nothing matters, but it was a blast to talk about. Plus, we got some Aaliyah. Highlights include: 2000s nu metal is just too powerful, release the Cher cut, are we allowed to say twink?, why put Aaliyah in a musical vampire movie and not let her perform?, and Akasha's magic p*ssy.

Happy Spooky Season! This week we recapped Late Night with the Devil, a 2024 horror directed by brothers Cameron and Colin Cairnes. This is our final episode of our Halloween theme, and it's a mixed bag of reviews for this one.

This week we recapped Terrifier, the 2016 independent slasher film written and directed by Damien Leone, as part of our Halloween theme.
Highlights include theories on the bleak and heartwrenching reality of our current times, Art the Clown's rise to mainstream media and our not-so-final decision on our Halloween outfits! (Maybe a Morticia X Quasimodo hybrid 'fit?)

This week we recapped the 90s slacker classic, Idle Hands, as part of our Halloween theme.
Highlights include musings on how bad this kid must have smelled, coming to terms with the fact that we're apparently old, dusty, crusty, and musty, and going completely off the rails once again on the topic of sexy Quasimodo.

This week we recapped Trick r Treat, a Halloween classic written and directed by Michael Dougherty. This movie is made of Halloween vibes - it's the perfect watch for getting into the spirit of spooky season. Join us for perhaps our most chaotic (in a good way) episode yet, where we recap each story in this gruesome anthology. Highlights include:

We're kicking off spooky season and our Halloween theme with the 2000 classic, Ginger Snaps, directed by John Fawcett and written by Karen Walton.
Sure, it's about werewolves, but it's also about the hell of being a teenage girl, sisterhood, and the oh-so-2000s nightmare of suburban angst. We loved Katherine Isabelle and Emily Perkins' performances, and as weird girls ourselves - hard relate. Justice for Mrs Fitzgerald though, a ride or die mama!
