Winner of 4 Tony Award for its original Broadway production, Ragtime is an all-American musical that tells the stories of Coalhouse Walker Jr., an African-American musician from Harlem, Tateh, a poor immigrant from Latvia, and Mother, a white matriarch of an upperclass family from New Rochelle, NY.  It is the turn of the century, and every American is in pursuit of their idea of the American Dream and do whatever it takes to get it. With heartache, pain, and loss, Ragtime exposes the racial prejudice, economic injustice, and systemic sexism that weigh heavily on its characters and continually prevent them from obtaining their ideas of "sexism."
