Was lovely meeting these fine southern folks who just opened up 3 months ago and making waves with their home style cooking and friendly service. Listen now to hear the story of how Zack and Kali opened up their spot! Plus Shu eats Dim Sum and Syd goes to vindictive wings. Shocking.
Chef Lily shares her inspiring story of risking it all. The Fortuna boys talk about why keeping it simple is the best way to make a sandwich shine.
This is what the podcast is all about. I had Tacos Cometa last night in Fremont and the food blew me away. I just had to get these guys in the studio to find out what they are about. Turns out there is a good reason they cook tacos like Michelin star chefs. It was also great meeting Kyle who was able to move from food truck to brick and mortar from the support of community.
Thanks for all the positive reviews! So happy to have Copine back in the studio to give us an update on the last couple years and where they are headed next! Thanks for taking time to come chop it up with us on your day off Chefs!

POP POP : The restlessly creative minds behind pop-up experiences such as 36 Courses (Wu-Tang themed dinner), I Think You Should Eat, and a Jewel Runner's Supper are back with a brand-new culinary adventure, Serious Gourmet Sh*t: A Quentin Tarantino Themed New Year’s Eve Costume Party.
The event will feature a 10-course roaming dinner that brings together some of the Seattle area's most innovative chefs (Khamnpaeng Panyathong of Taurus Ox, Steven Ono of Ono Poke, Avery Hardin of Layers, Luis Brambila of Bar Dojo, and more), each creating a dish representing one of Tarantino's films. Ethan Stowell Restaurants will be creating a drink menu inspired by the director's entire filmography.
In true POP POP fashion, you can expect even more than mind-blowing food and drinks: there will also be live experiences, photo booths, costume contests, and plenty of other surprises.
And it wouldn't be a NYE party without some tunes, so Seattle-favorite DJ Indica Jones will be spinning music downstairs at the Jack Rabbit Slim'sDance Party.
Chef Line Up:
Kinga Borkowsk of Good Morning Tacos
Luis Brambila of Bar Dojo
Jose Garzon of Bad Chancla
Avery Hardin of Layers
Maddy O'Donnell of Maddy's Bakeshop
Steven Ono of Ono Poke
Khamnpaeng Panyathong of Taurus Ox
