For this year’s Samhain Special, Enku and Anjel share a beautiful, deep and resonating conversation with Seba, the Southern Fried Witch. In this episode we talk about what is to be haunted, dedicated to the land, and how we as witches have the power to heal generational trauma and connect with the truth of our ancestors. Seba speaks in lyrical and candid prose about the Samhain season and how she celebrates it. We talk also about the specificity of being a southerner and Seba shares some of the events of her past year that she wants to compost and gain nutrients from the rot. After the interview, Anjel shares some information about this year’s Trans Telethon and some updates to the Patreon.

We talk about some of the horrifying monsters of Filipino mythology and then switch gears to discuss queerness, gender identity and de-colonizing one’s own self image. It's a brave and fascinating discussion where we even explore the use of it pronouns and an intersex trans goddess in pre-Christian Filipino mythology.

In this special edition of Deity Deep Dives we are releasing on the main RSS feed , Anjel talks about Heqet, the ancient Egyptian frog headed goddess, that is associated with fertility, childbirth and transformation. In this episode, Anjel discusses the connection of Heqet with the Goddess Hecate and how frogs have long been associated with witches in part thanks to this connection. They also talk a bit about threats that are causing the decline of frog populations all over the world, with several conservation organizations to help save frogs found in the show notes.
