I read this book and it was so enlightening, my heavy hitter points involved
1. That romantic Love has two stages
2. That the saying " Like Mother, like daughter" and like " Father like son" is not a myth
3. That apologizing is a sign of strength
4. That toilets are not self - cleaning
5. That mutual sexual fulfillment is not automatic
If your single this episode is also great preparation if you feel God has called you into a season of preparation for your Kingdom marriage.

Kerel sat down with one of her favorite Aunt's and her husband to discuss how after 36 years of marriage they have been able to keep the FIRE burning!!!
We talked about love languages, seasons of not being able to make ends meet and how they sacrifice, compromise and offer each other grace everyday! They say that there just as much in love as they were the day they got married!
I learned so much from this interview and I hope you do too!

Somes times we allow society’s vision of success to distract us from what God has called us to do!
We have to ask ourselves what God is calling you to do in this season
Stephanie Ike said our culture has become so obsessed with Purpose that they are forgetting the pre requisite which is intimacy with Christ
Work - We need to stop allowing our identity to be found in our work
Money - We need to trust God to be our daily provider
Fame - We have to realize that being known isn't a priority, bringing God glory is our only goal
Comfort -Sometime God uses uncomfortable situations to allow us to bring him the most glory!

Travis talks about Distractions in the context of social media.
He talks about the good the bad and the ugly and how social media plays a role is productivity, comparison and overthinking. He also shares how he brings wisdom and discernment into the role of using these platforms as weirdly as possible. A sobering message for this generation.

God’s loyal love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God ( I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. (“Lamentations 3:24-34 - MSG Bible)
New living translation:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin a fresh each morning. I say to myself “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore I will hope in him.

The Bible tells us to seek Christ first but as believers that isn't always easy. because at times, distractions get in the way. One of the things that distracts me from trusting God's plan is my IMAGINATION of how much better I think something can be!
Imagination of a Good life
Imagine if Leah had a prophecy of what was about to happen in her life and imagine if she started to imagine what that would have meant, could you imagine what she imagined as her reality if this is what she had in her heart.
Your Husband is near
Your husband is handsome protector and provider
You will be blessed by many children by your husband
Leah got this, but also ended up in a loveless marriage, she seemingly got everything she wanted but still had to set aside her idols of marriage, children, and family, and set her sights on higher things than her circumstances.
Even when we get what we want it still won't fill the God void!
“No lusting after your neighbor’s house—or wife or servant or maid or ox or donkey. Don’t set your heart on anything that is your neighbor’s. “
Exodus 20:17 MSG
Things that increase my imagination distraction:
Social Media - TV Media
Gossip - Heard how people bless
What Im personally Exposed to - In person
James 1:16-17 says, “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Cohost Joy sits with two guests, repeat guest Rachel McDermott (a Michigan based mental health counselor) and LaKeSha Morris, (Texas based licensed psychotherapist of 7 years). She has counseled diverse groups of people with various needs & concerns for individual therapy, groups & couples therapy.
Therapists are health care professionals just like Doctors, physiotherapists and others are.
Because emotions are not tangible, maybe we don’t deem them as important so much so to seek out professional help for our mental health, but we should! Let’s seek health holistically!
Isaiah 9:6 Among many things, The Holy Spirit is a Counselor!
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. “-Isaiah 9:6
Successful people have teams! Financial advisors, personal trainers, chefs, help at home, medical doctors for annual checkups…what about our mental health?!?
It’s ok to not have it all together. None of us do!
Squash fears regarding therapy, there’s growth awaiting you on the other side.

Topic: “ Broken Crayons still color”: A journey with Jesus and Therapy
Key Scriptures: Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance, a people fall, nbut in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
Whether we ever go to therapy or not because we live in an imperfect world and interact with imperfect people we all will have hard moments eventually or experience some level of trauma, ….but we find that when life is negatively impacted by circumstances or events therapy or counseling is a good option to help us process.
Guest Host Felecia and her friend Shanae deep dive into their experiences with Therapy.
Take away point (Tweet):
Therapy is there to help us cut out all the distractions and focus.

Why I go to therapy
A therapist is like a translator of your emotions
It’s the why behind the why
When something makes you upset our first and easier reaction is this person is bad and if they didn’t do it I wouldn’t have been upset.
While there is truth in that statement there is often another truth to that statement.
Or As a believer God didn’t allow it to go the way I wanted it to go and he should have.
That’s where and understanding of God comes in,
Why did it evoke that emotion in you and therapy helps you to answer those questions
So 3 Breakthrough Moments
- Anxiety is living in the future depression is living in the past
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Philippians 4:6-7
- Our attachment styles help us to understand how we currently interact in relationships
Consistent affirmation is needed, they are needy
“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:3, 5 NLT
- Healthy and secure people know that there is pain, they acknowledge and allow themselves to feel the pain but they don’t internalize the pain, they don’t make the pain about them. Their actions are not motivated by trauma and pain
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
Psalms 139:13-14 NLT
