In today's episode we talk with Ali Ellis from The Toddler Kitchen. If you have young children or are planning a family - this one is for you. Ali shows us that even though food and kids can often be tricky and sometimes frustrating - it also gets to be fun and rewarding. She walks us through how we can set our children (and us) up for success. We talk about starting the food journey with kids, picky eaters, bedtime snacks (are they really necessary or are they a stall tactic), nurturing our children's self awareness and getting them involved in everything from meal planning, shopping and preparing so that it doesn't feel like a daily struggle.
Ali is a registered dietitian and founder of The Toddler Kitchen - where she's on a mission to help make feeding kids a little easier, a little less stressful, and a lot more fun. Ali has been working with families and health for over 15 years, first on the health promotion research side, and now as a dietitian to support their nutrition. She loves supporting parents to find simple strategies that support their children to be curious and confident eaters, and to grow up with a positive relationship with food. When Ali isn't in the kitchen creating nourishing kid-friendly recipes or supporting parents with her various workshops and programs, you can find Ali out running around with her two little girls, out on the golf course, or exploring beautiful Vancouver Island.
