The Rings of Power: A Podcast from TV Podcast Industries
The Rings of Power Episodes 8 Alloyed Podcast from TV Podcast Industries

We have reached the end of our adventure and discuss the finale of The Lord of The Rings The Rings of Power Episode 8 Alloyed in our spoiler filled podcast.

The Rings Of Power Episode 8 Alloyed Synopsis

Episode Written by Gennifer Hutchison with John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Episode Directed by Wayne Chi Yip

Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien

In the East, the white witches known as the Servants of Sauron catch up with The Stranger proclaiming him Lord Sauron, and pledging their service to him so that he may lift the veil of his enemies so he may know himself once again and rule over the lands of Middle-Earth.

Nori and the Harfoots also manage to catch up with The Stranger, who has been bound by the Servants of Sauron to keep him from using his powers, which he still has little control over. They manage to free him and help him realise who he really is - he is not Sauron but one of the Istari or wizards. They manage to fend off the Servants of Sauron stealing The Dweller's staff, which the Stranger then uses to banish the trio back to the shadow.

Meanwhile, Galadriel and an injured Halbrand arrive in Eregion, much to the surprise of Elrond. The elvish medicine soon has Halbrand on his feet and he seeks out Celebrimbor, the great forger, and in their discussions Halbrand suggests a way of forging the mithril with other metals to enhance its strength.

But as Celebrimbor explains what he must do to save the Elves from their diminishing light his choice of words makes Galadriel suspicious of Halbrand’s keen interest in the work at the great forge. She checks into the royal lineages of the Southlands.

As work progresses in the forge, Galadriel confronts Halbrand with her discovery that he is not from the lineage of the Southland kings, which was broken many years ago.

Halbrand reveals himself to be Sauron, and infiltrates her mind to persuade her to become his queen and rule Middle-Earth with him as king, but she refuses. Sauron overpowers Galadriel and flees from Eregion. Keeping what she knows from Elrond and Celebrimbor, she instructs Celebrimbor to forge Three Rings instead of two, so that it brings balance to the holders.

Elendil and Míriel arrive back to Númenór to find king Tar-Palantir has died. While back amongst the Harfoots, the Stranger and Nori decide to depart the group and travel east, into Rhûn, to find the “Hermit’s Hat” constellation. Unsure which way to go, the Stranger chooses a direction based upon the sweet smell in the air, advising that when in doubt, to "always follow your nose".

As their adventure into the East begins, so the journey of Sauron from Eregion finishes as he reaches the Land of Mordor.

The Rings Of Power Episode 7 The Eye Synopsis

Episode Written by Jason Cahill

Episode Directed by Charlotte Brändström

Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien

The village is aflame, buried in soot and ash. The survivors make for a nearby hill and the Numenorean base camp, where it is revealed that the Queen Regent Miriel has lost her eyesight, and Elendil begins to realise that his son, Isildur, is lost, presumed dead, after attempting to save people from a burning house.

Upon reaching the encampment, Theo who has been accompanied by Galadreil is reunited with Bronwyn and Arondir, and Galadriel is promised further Númenórean support by Miriel to defeat their common enemy, though Elendil is resentful of Galadriel's appearance having brought these events on the Numenoreans and his son.

As the Númenóreans depart, a wounded Halbrand, found with a gash in his side, is in urgent need of Elvish medicine, as Galadriel brings him with her back to Lindon.Elsewhere, Nori's caravan finish their migration, but they find the other Harfoots lamenting the destruction of their grove due to the eruption of Orodruin. The Stranger's attempt to mend a tree appears to fail, so Sadoc, leader of the Harfoots, sends him away with a map of his constellation.

The following day, however, the entire grove has regrown. While the Harfoots rejoice, they are found by a mysterious trio of Witches in White who are in search of the Stranger. After failing to mislead them, the trio burn the caravans. Wanting to protect their friend, a group of Harfoots set out to warn him.

In Khazad-dûm, Elrond offers a deal for the Dwarvish mithril, but King Durin III declines, stating the Elven Age has ended. As Elrond departs, Durin IV witnesses mithril's ability to cure the Elven blight. He brings Elrond and begins to mine for the ore himself. Just as he strikes a massive mithril vein, King Durin arrives and banishes Elrond while also stripping Durin IV of his royal position before sealing the mine, though unbeknownst to him, a Balrog deep underground awakens.

In the destroyed Southland village, Adar and his army claim victory and rename the land Mordor.

The Rings Of Power Episode 6 Udûn Synopsis

Episode Written by Nicholas Adams and Justin Doble with John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Episode Directed by Charlotte Brändström

Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien

The battle for the Southlands begins!

Adar and the Orc army advance on the watchtower of Ostirith and find it abandoned. While they search the tower, Arrondir destroys the tower, causing it to collapse onto the Orc army. The townspeople, who moved down the valley to their village, cheer at the apparent victory but must prepare for the next assault.

As the villages make ready to hold off the remaining Orcs, Arrondir hides the broken blade hilt and professes his love to Bronwyn, promising a life together after the battle. The fighting between Orcs, Elves and humans begins, and while the villagers appear victorious, they discover that many of the enemy killed were actually the traitorous Southlanders, and the true Orc army attacks from the shadows, killing many and severely wounding Bronwyn.

Overwhelmed and cornered in the village tavern, Adar seeks out the hilt and begins putting the villagers to the sword one-by-one until Theo reveals the location of the broken blade to Adar. With all hope lost, the surviving townsfolk are saved by the Númenorian army who slay many of the remaining Orcs.

Adar attempts to escape, but is captured by Galadriel and Halbrand. They interrogate him, discovering his origins as a Moriondor or Uruk, elves corrupted by Morgoth. He taunts them, feigning memory of killing Halbrand's Southlandian family and claiming to have killed Sauron.

Back at the village, Halbrand is hailed as the King of the Southlands, while Theo realises the broken blade they recovered is a decoy while the true blade had been carried back to the watchtower by Waldreg.

He uses it on the mechanism at Ostirith, causing the nearby dam to release water that rushes through the Orc tunnels towards Mount Doom. Clashing with magma, the resulting eruption releases clouds of volcanic ash, hot gasses and molten debris into the air, darkening the skies over the Southlands and spreading devastation across the Southlands.

Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien

While protecting Nori and the other Harfoots from a wolf pack, the Stranger's use of magic injures his own arm. He heals it using conjured ice, and as Nori attempts to help him she is accidentally fused to him by the ice. Panicked, she attempts to struggle free and is flung away from him as she manages to free herself from the icy hold. Frightened, she flees from the Stranger.

In Númenor, Galadriel convinces Halbrand to join the expedition to Middle-earth after retelling her battles and losses against Sauron. At the same time, Kemen, son of Pharazôn, attempts to destroy the expedition ships, believing Galadriel and Míriel will take the fall and allow Pharazôn to rise to power with the people's support. However, he is caught by Isildur, who is rewarded with a spot on the expedition crew.

In Lindon, Gil-galad reveals to Elrond his knowledge of and intention to use the Dwarvish mithril to extend the existence of the Elves in Middle-earth, as their life-force is diminishing. In the Southlands, half of the townspeople cave into Adar's demands and join him, believing him to be Sauron. Theo shows the broken sword to Arrondir, who realises it is a key to help warp the Southlands into Sauron's realm of evil and darkness. With the watchtower at Ostirith now the target for the oncoming Orc army headed by Adar. As the remaining townspeople prepare for battle against the approaching army, they light the watchtower’s beacon to signal for help.

Placed in prison Galadriel’s neighbour, Halbrand, offers her some advice to slow down, understand her captors and be less confrontational with the Queen.

But the Queen is already there and takes the opportunity to show Galadriel the vision of Númenor's destruction in a palantír. Galadriel convinces Míriel to join the fight against the Orcs in the Southlands. As preparations begin for war Isildur pledges himself to the effort.

Arrondir meets Adar, who appears to be a scarred elf from the Elder Days. Adar releases Arrondir, giving him a message to be passed onto the humans who have taken refuge in the old elven Watchtower. The Rings Of Power Episode 3 Adar Synopsis

Episode Written by Jason Cahill and Justin Doble

Episode Directed by Wayne Yip

Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay

Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien

After being adrift in the Sundering Sea Galadriel and Halbrand are rescued by a ship captained by Elendil, but are their rescuers friend or foe? They are taken to the Land of the Star, Númenor, an island kingdom ruled by Men who fought Morgoth alongside the Elves.

The relations between the Númenóreans and the Elves have grown strained over time and the arrival of an Elf to their lands is a cause for controversy. Queen Regent Míriel denies Galadriel's request for a ship back to Middle-earth.

Watched over by Elendil, he speaks of the continued influence of Elves in his lands and takes Galadriel to visit a library of lore built by Elrond's brother Elros. There she discovers that the mark of Sauron is actually a map of the Southlands where a new realm for evil forces is planned. She also learns that Halbrand, who is imprisoned after fighting some Númenórean sword smiths, is the king of the Southlands.

As the Harfoots prepare for their seasonal migration, the Stranger is revealed while trying to read some star charts that Nori has taken from Sadoc’s star-book. Nori and her family are reprived from being left behind, despite breaking the laws of the community, but they must travel at the back of the caravan. The next day as they migrate, with Nori’s wagon lagging behind the rest of the caravan trail, they discover a stow away, the Stranger, who helps his new friends on their migration.

In the Southlands, Arrondir has been captured by Orcs and taken to a construction camp digging underground passages so Orcs can travel during the day. His Elven compatriots have also been captured, but are killed during an attempted escape. Arrondir survives but is taken to the mysterious Orc leader, Adar.
