Was great to have Hodgey on the pod this week! The man loves his golf. He caught the bug hard when he moved down to Melbourne for rugby and he's been chasing single figures ever since. He is currently playing off 10, so he's not far off! Hodgey is a world class golf kicker and it was awesome to chat to him about how he uses the lessons he's learned in goal kicking to improve his golf game. He's played at some pretty unreal tracks and he's also got his sights on some big tracks to tick off on his golfing bucket list.
Could've talked for hours about golf with Hodegy. Check out the episode and stay the right amount of rowdy!

Last week, we chatted some golf with NSW cricketer and golf lover Chris Tremain. Some cracking yarns in this one! Although Chris makes a living playing cricket, the man might as well be on the PGA tour with the amount of golf he plays. And he is not alone. Cricketers love their golf!
We have an awesome chat around what Chris's daily/weekly schedule looks like during the season and off-season (a lot of golf), his grip 'n' rip mentality on the course, his pursuit to shoot under-par, hitting his teammate with a flushed 3 wood, and many more yarns. Chris also doesn't shy away from throwing some of the cricket lads under the bus either. Great laughs!
Looking forward to getting back out on the course with Chris. From our chat, it seems as though Chris loses money on the course more than he wins. We will have to put a wager on our next round. I like my chances!
Enjoy the episode!

In this episode, we talk some golf with Australian rugby player, James Dargaville. Dargs is currently playing footy in Japan and has been getting stuck into his golf in the land of the rising sun. So much so, he picked up a HOLE IN ONE playing at a par 3 course! Should hole in one's count at par 3 courses? Listen to find out what we think on the matter.
We chat about the uniqueness of golf in Japan and how he got into the game whilst playing at the Brumbies in Canberra. We also trade stories from some of our rounds at par 3 courses. There should be more of them!
Awesome to chat golf with Dargs. Looking forward to trying to outdrive him one day!

In this episode, we chat with New Zealand-born rugby union player, Fletcher Smith. Smithers got the bug whilst playing professional rugby over in NZ. For Smithers, golf has been the perfect getaway from the day-to-day grind of professional footy.
We had a good laugh completing a SWOT analysis on his game, discussing the courses he's played back in NZ and around the world, and chatting about the "mental break" that golf provides professional sportspeople. We also play a bit of "would you rather" and put Smithers on the spot with some tough scenarios.
Looking forward to playing a lot more golf with this fella! Great to have him on the pod, even though he outdrives me.

In this episode, we catch up with current Melbourne Rebels back-rower Brad Wilkin. Playing rugby in Melbourne, there is no better place to be a fan of golf! Brad plays out at Spring Valley Golf Club and has been posting some quality scores of late. We discuss all things golf, from having a brother that is a professional golfer, to caddying at the Fiji Open, and the lessons he takes from golf to his rugby. We also chat about the best courses he's played, the sand green course back in his home town Yeoval, and friendly competition against a few of the Melbourne Storm lads. Was great to have Brad on the first episode. Awesome start! This pod is brought to you by the Gum's Gallery which is a proud supporter of the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation.
