He left his childhood home at 16, moved to Australia at 18, and has since become a sales manager for a remote Solar Company after doing 6 years of door-to-door sales. 6.3million tourists visited Bali in 2019. Due to COVID19, there have been no tourists here for months. Tourism is a HUGE contributor to Bali's economy, with many Indonesians working in the sector. Businesses have been forced to close, many locals have lost jobs and suffered huge reductions in income with many struggling to feed their own families. A few kind expats and locals have taken the initiative to create Food Projects to help people in need. I decided to hire a local videographer, Imung, to show you the situation and one of the incredible initiatives run by the lovely Laura and Jeri.

This week I interview the amazing Sabby Choudhary from Canada and originally from India. Sabby’s is a digital marketer who has founded a series of startups over his career so far. He dropped out of University to get involved in different startups and projects and along the way, successfully applied to YCombinator with one of his startups (a social network for University students). YC is one of the largest startup accelerators in the world with Stripe, Airbnb and Dropbox all having gone through the program. Sabby and I chat all about building a tech startup, the YC application process, getting Venture Capital funding and his learnings from the whole experience. Sabby now lives and works remotely in Bali and we chat all about how he decided to travel and live the digital nomad / location independent lifestyle before settling in Bali.

This week I interview Glenn Emery, an Accountant who travels the world and whilst working remotely. Glenn is originally from the US and is spending his lockdown time in Singapore. He started his career in Finance working in multiple jobs in banking and private equity before moving to a start-up called Exploding Kittens on the West Coast. Glenn always had an itch to travel and something more entrepreneurial. Fuelled by fear of regretting never going traveling, he decided to quit his job for South East Asia and the digital nomad life. He tells us all about how he managed to keep his job working remotely for the start-up, whilst balancing freelance graphic design work, his passion for art and drawing all whilst travelling the world. This week I interview the lovely Lucia Grace, a lifestyle & travel blogger from the UK. Lucia's blogging has allowed her to build a business around remote work enabling her to split her time between Bali and Europe whilst working on collaborations with brands and her own freelance based content projects for clients all over the world. We chat all about how Lucia got started with blogging, how she built her audience and used her work to build a business that ultimately allowed her the freedom to travel. Martha is a Project Manager working remotely for an American company. Previously, her corporate career included working as a Project Manager for Diageo in both Colombia and London. She became fed up of working in the office at set times and decided to look for a remote opportunity. She now lives and works remotely from Bali. This week we have the incredible Kieran Hedley on with us, he is an Anxiety Coach originally from New Zealand usually based in Bali. Kieran has experienced his own mental health battles and overcome anxiety, depression and suffering frequent panic attacks. He now coaches clients 1:1 to help them overcome their own battles. I brought Kieran on this week as we are all going through very unfamiliar times at the moment because of COVID19 with many of you being in isolation. Coping with anxiety, uncertainty, fear and confinement can be extremely confronting. We chat all about the challenges we are all going through and Kieran provides some incredible advice on how best to manage your own situation and these feelings. We also chat all about Kieran's story of going from a PT, striving for future success and always wanting more whilst inside feeling depressed, anxious and often suffering panic attacks. This week I interview Liz Ribot, Co-Founder of Outsite. Outsite is a collection of spaces around the world built for the remote work community, in their spaces they have areas for co-living and co-working and their mission is to help people build location independent lives. Liz and I chat all about how she started as Community Manager of Outsite’s first site on the West Coast of America to becoming co-founder and the journey along the way of getting investment and expanding to 28 sites across the world. Hey I'm Suzie, I spent 6 years working in corporate sales roles in London including the largest Investment bank in the world and a San Francisco fintech unicorn. Despite these being quite impressive jobs to a lot of people, I always felt like something was missing. The routine started to really get me down so I did a lot of soul searching until I decided to quit my job, start a podcast and move to Bali to explore the world of remote work. What I discovered amazed me, there are entire communities of super smart and talented people working and living remotely, from all over the world, all doing different things and actually EXCITED about their work. I learned that many of them had left huge corporate jobs because they were restricted to staying in one place and had experienced similar things to me. From then on I became obsessed with this way of working, it opens up so many opportunities for you to travel, spend more time with loved ones or just do more things you love all whilst being more productive and generally happier.
