elan Browne (age 17) is a new up and coming talent from Ballybofey in Co. Donegal. Growing up in a musical household, Kelan soon found his voice and a love for Country music. Listening to artists such as Conway Twitty amongst others has been instrumental in Kelan's own authentic style. ‘Hello Darlin’’ is a fitting choice as Kelan’s debut single to showcase his unique vocal and interpretation of this iconic classic country song.
2021 will be a very exciting year for Kelan. In January, he will be appearing on the new series of ‘Glor Tire’ on TG4 (along with Country Star Robert Mizzell as his mentor). Kelan will be the youngest contestant in the history of the show to take part.
David hails from the small village of Killea Co.Donegal. David’s love for country music started when he attended ‘The Country Fest’ in Letterkenny with his brother Gerard. “I was bitten by the show band bug and ever since that day I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do” said David. He then started performing at the tender age of 14 around the local pubs and clubs in counties Donegal/Derry & Tyrone. David’s first taste of success came in the summer of 2016 when he released the song ‘My Donegal Doll.’
The song went to No.1 on the iTunes Charts and received huge press which included a write up in the irish mirror. The video for the song went viral receiving 50,000 hits in just a matter of hours. It has since been viewed almost 250,000 times! You can watch the video here. David went on to release a further 3 singles that went to No.1. All of these singles are on David’s current album ‘Country Heart’ which is available to purchase here. His live shows carry an infectious energy which has seen him win numerous awards such as ‘Irelands Best Young Entertainer’. In his short career he has even performed for Prince Harry & Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. “It was certainly an experience that I’ll never forget” said David. “It was surreal to be honest but I have to say both of them were incredibly nice people. I’m a huge ‘suits’ fan so when Meghan said she thought I had a beautiful voice I nearly fainted” joked David. Another career highlight for David was performing on a Caribbean Cruise with his good friends ‘The New York Tenors’ and Irish tenor ‘Ronan Tynan’.
David was a firm favourite with the cruise audiences which has seen him start to build a fan base in the USA. David’s biggest musical influence is Joe Dolan and this is something that is echoed throughout his live shows. As well as his singing career David is also an accomplished broadcaster. He presents ‘The Jivetime Show’ on Highland Radio weekdays 2.30-5pm. David is Highland Radio’s youngest broadcaster. “I’ll never forget my first show. It was on 2nd October 2017. I was so incredibly nervous beforehand and my hands were shaking.
It didn’t help that I knew 68,000 people would be listening. As soon as I switched on the mic the nervousness disappeared and I felt right at home. I love every single minute of working in radio” said David. David has travelled the world as a competitive Irish dancer. He has competed in The World Championships in Philadelphia, Montreal, Glasgow & Dublin. His biggest success was when he became World Champion in Dublin in April 2017. David and 7 of his team mates took gold in the ‘Senior Mixed Ceili’ competition.
