Welcome back to remembering the Mafia is still an actual thing! Lots of news to get through this week as the FBI arrested dozens of people in an alleged illegal gambling and bet-fixing ring, including members of the New York mafia and Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups. We'll discuss what's happened so far and how this might affect our few of sportsbetting apps and legal gambling in general.
We'll also catch you up on what the Chargers and Raiders did in Week 8: beating the Vikings (shout out Carson Wentz) on TNF or beating the Bye Week in Las Vegas, before getting into what position players our teams need to target before Tuesday's trade deadline.
Thanks for listening! Comment any topics or hot takes you want us to address here, email to Ballinesian@gmail.com or DM them to @ballinesian on Instagram or TikTok.

BALLINESIAN PODCAST ON THE POLYTICKIN NETWORK
Welcome back to another episode of Both Our NFL Teams Lost This Week! Samoans talking sports, a Charger and Raider fan breaking down Whyyyy these things are happening. The Raiders (2-5) had a historic(ly bad) trip to Kansas City, totaling three first downs, 95 yards and 30 offensive plays in a 31-0 shutout loss vs Patrick Mahomes and returning WR Rashee Rice. The Chargers (4-3) made Jonathon Taylor look like MVP Adrian Peterson and Daniel Jones look like MVP Peyton Manning en route to a 14-point loss IN Los Angeles. Yuck. Fun times! We'll also hit results from the Seahawks, 49ers, Rams and Dolphins-Browns. Enjoy the show!

BALLINESIAN PODCAST ON THE POLYTICKIN NETWORK
Welcome in! Let's talk Chargers, Raiders and also the NFL teams that have surprised us the most so far this season, both good and bad. The Bolts flew out to Miami to face QB Tuanigamaluolepola Tagovailoa and forced him into three INTs, just enough to squeak out a game-winning FG by Cameron Dicker. The Raiders hosted the Tennessee Titans and held them to 10 points en route to breaking a four-game losing streak. In this week's NFL convo, we'll discuss which teams have over- and under-acheived our preseason expectations. Ravens haven't gotten off the ground, Eagles gotta figure it out now but Jaguars, Steelers, Colts and the Buccaneers are sitting pretty with great starts so far. Enjoy the show!

Sefa reminisces about White Sunday, so shout out to y'all memorizing your verses this weekend.
The boys discuss prison reform, as a post from the Humans of San Quentin Instagram highlighted two Samoan brothers sharing their story.
If we all want a safer society, rehabilitation must be prioritized.

BALLINESIAN PODCAST ON THE POLYTICKIN NETWORK
Welcome back to Samoans talking sports, discussing a couple of tough losses from Week 5 for the Raiders and Chargers. Most of the Raiders traveled to Indianapolis in a turnover-filled loss and the Los Angeles allowed 27 straight points to the Commanders in a frustrating L of their own.
In a brighter spot, we'll talk on how the heck the injured 49ers are (4-1) and play Guess Their Real First Name (MACCORKLE!) before diving into what Puka Nacua's first three seasons have meant for the LA Rams. He's been setting records since his first week in the NFL and continued that effort in Week 5, finishing with 10 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown to bring his receptions total on the year to 52 catches, the most through Week 5 in NFL history. FEED HIM! But someone get Tyler Lockett in here to teach Uce to get down and avoid those extra hits lol.
UNDEFEATED NO MORE: We'll go over which formerly undefeated teams we're more worried about after their surprising Week 5 loss, the Eagles or the Bills (it's the Eagles). Those '72 Dolphins pop the champagne earlier than usual this season. Also, shout out to Browns rookie QB Dillon Gabriel for making his first start in the NFL, in an international game in London, vs a Brian Flores blitz-heavy defense, and looking cool, calm and almost collecting a W before a last-second comeback by the Vikings. The Browns liked what they saw so much that they traded their former starter to a division rival as Joe Flacco heads to Cincinnati.
