New analysis of devastating toll of aid cuts “369,000 children likely to die and 2.3 million at risk due to 44% cuts in global nutrition funding”
These are the stark findings from global nutrition experts in a new analysis published today. These cuts are also pulling the rug out from under vital programmes that support nutrition and keep millions healthy, including programmes in agriculture, school feeding, water and sanitation.
In a bonus podcast from DAY 3 of N4D@N4G, N4D Director Chris Leather caught up two of the authors – Saskia Osendarp, Executive Director of Micronutrient Forum, and Lawrence Haddad, Executive Director of GAIN – to discuss the findings and solutions for the way forward.

C’est fini – so that’s Day 1 of events in the N4G Summit CSO Pavilion in the bag - and we’ve got lots to share!!
Themes are emerging in this ‘summit like no other summit’, with governments, civil society actors and private sector sharing the stage to highlight how nutrition is strengthening partnerships - with actors in early childhood development, climate resilience and others. We’re also hearing about financing challenges but also some reasons for hope… It’s definitely time to be thinking outside traditional silos and boxes!
The N4D team were in among the participants with their roving mike - and seeking out, in particular, country voices to hear their hopes for the summit and for this brave new world of restricted financing. If you want to join the conversation, please approach them to have your say on DAYS 2-5 – we would love to hear your thoughts on this, the official N4G Summit Paris 2025 daily podcast!
Stay tuned for daily podcasts on this channel as we round up the day with our own reflections and thought-provoking conversations with those attending the summit.
