Kerri Sutey (Agile Coach at Google)
Curiosity and courage are the pillars that lead to a fulfilled life. Kerri finds the greatest joy in exploring - whether it is traveling the world, hiking to new heights, or coaching leaders and teams on their agile journey. My journey shifted from traditional project management to Scrum Master to Agile Coach to coach of coaches to Enterprise Coach. And I've been fortunate to lead agile teams in modeling & simulation, cyber security, and marketing before making my way to IT. I've coached in the US Government, Technology, Oil and Gas, and Airline industries - taking an integral approach that values mindset, culture, and business outcomes as critical to achieving agility versus checking a framework box. My passions are co-creating with others and celebrating the "aha” moments of collaboration, innovation, and learning. Kerri currently resides in Austin, TX (in the winter) and Lakeside, MT (in the summer).

In this episode Paddy talks to Mik Kersten the author of the best seller, Project to Product, introducing the Flow Framework, with concepts to help drive software at the pace of organization's business. Mik speaks about his recommendations on Flow metrics, team structures, what is beyond Agile, and many more insights.
Dr. Mik Kersten spent a decade creating open source developer tools before realizing that programing was not the bottleneck of large-scale software delivery. Since that time, he has been working on creating a model and tools for connecting the end-to-end software value stream.
He has been named a JavaOne Rock Star speaker, one of the IBM developerWorks Java top 10 writers of the decade, selected as one of the 2012 Business in Vancouver 40 under 40 and has been a World Technology Awards finalist in the IT Software category.
Prior to founding Tasktop, Mik created the Eclipse Mylyn open source project as part of his PhD in Computer Science, pioneering the integration of development tools with the delivery pipeline.

I caught up with David Marquet about his new book Leadership is Language. Most of us use the language we inherited from a time when workers worked with their hands and managers worked with their heads. Today, your people do much more than simply follow orders. They contribute to performance and solve problems, and it's time we updated our language to reflect that.
