She also is the former president of the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society. She has served as a mentor to countless medical students and residents. Most importantly, she has been able to maintain a thriving family life on top of all this. We discuss how she has managed to balance work and family, how to get more women into orthopedics, how men can serve as mentors for women in orthopedic surgery, and how to survive your first few years in practice.
