In the mid 1960s through early 1980s, a new generation of filmmakers emerged, challenging the old studio system and pushing the boundaries of cinematic storytelling. This era captured great creativity and innovation, producing some of the most iconic and influential films ever made. Between new business models, auteur directors, and parameters of freedom, moviegoers were able to experience a different kind of storytelling that hadn't quite been seen like this before.
