Dr. Adriana Popescu and how Brainspotting, EMDR, and Energy Psychology, can heal
Dr. Popescu sat down with me to talk about the more primitive parts of our brain and how they still affect us when it comes to emotions such as anxiety, anger, and aggression, and issues like trauma, we also explored what science is now telling us about how trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACES study) affect the brain and nervous system (polyvagal theory), and the long-term negative effects of this, and how we can change all that with psychological techniques.

The Neanderthal Mind
Toby Pasman part 2
CAVE DWELLERS!! Listen, which I guess is the only thing you can do on a podcast, but, I took the played out, boring intro off of this episode, and more than likely the rest of the episodes. I know my Cave Dweller community knows who I am and what our, meaning cave dwellers, podcast is about, so I am going to just jump right into this episode and say…. Welcome to part two with Toby Pasman. Toby is a neurophysiology researcher who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He worked on the Emotions and Neuroplasticity Project at the Brain Development Lab while in undergrad, learning EEG acquisition and artifacting, if it’s not a word, it is now. Toby went on to work in the clinical mental health field, utilizing EEG, along with QEEG, transcranial stimulation, PEMF, and neurofeedback technology, the latter of which he has a board certification in. He is currently working on his Master's of Psychology at Lynn University and running Roscoe's Wetsuit Neuro Podcast, his applied neuroscience and psychology show. His show can be found on his Youtube channel “Roscoe's Wetsuit”, along with audio versions of the podcast available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and just about anywhere else you can listen to podcasts. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. I will see you on the flip side Cave Dweller Community.

The Neanderthal Mind
Toby Pasman
HELLO Cave Dweller Community. Let me start off with an apology. I have not put an episode out in over 3 weeks! I have no excuses, but I do apologize! But I am back and starting off STRONG with this weeks Guest. Toby Pasman is a Neurophysiology Researcher, who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Joining a research lab called the Brain Development Lab, Toby worked on what was called the emotions and neuroplasticity project, basically looking at the brain and heart electrical recordings that are associated with different sort of emotional states. Toby has been working the past couple years at Peak Performance Center up in Seattle, working to train the brain, train the electrical activity of the brain, through various technologies. Toby has spent about a little over a year at an Addiction Medicine Center in Florida, also utilizing these technologies to treat patients diagnosed with addiction problems along with mental health issues. We touch a little on ECG (electroencephalography), that's basically a tool used by researchers to measure the brain's electrical activity. Toby and I cover the subjects of, neurofeedback, biofeedback, transcranial stimulation, and PMF (Post Electromagnetic Frequencies. I will let Toby explain to the Cave Dweller Community, what all those words mean. We talk about enhancing cognition, nootropics, meditation, parasympathetic and sympathetic. He is currently working on his Master's of Psychology at Lynn University and running Roscoe's Wetsuit Neuro Podcast, his applied neuroscience and psychology show. His show can be found at his Youtube channel Roscoe's Wetsuit along with audio versions of the podcast available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and just about anywhere else you can listen to podcasts. OK, you get the picture, Toby is about to lay down some serious psych on us and tie it all into the Neanderthal Mind and how it affects us today.

The Neanderthal Mind
Revisit of episode one with Joe Lawlor
Well Cave Dwellers, I feel I need to apologize for this episode! It is my first attempt at a solo episode. To my dismay, I feel it is not of a quality episode as I believe my Cave Dwellers deserve, but, it is my first attempt, so, I can only get better from here. In this episode, I recap my very first interview with Joe Lawlor, aka, Neanderthal Joe. I define most of the terms Neanderthal Joe shared with us when He was explaining Flint Knapping. Joe is, what I would call, an expert of the process. Joe gives a history of Flint Knapping, and some of the more common terms used when talking about Flint Knapping and the history of it and our Neanderthal Ancestors. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. It is a lot shorter of an episode than your use to, but it is just a recap of a previous episode, which, you can go back and download to listen to the entire episode, if you have not already. Thank You again Cave Dwellers, for all the support you have given me. I look forward to hearing from my community any time you would like to discuss The Neanderthal Mind, and where we as a community, would like to see the podcast go and grow. Well, until next time Cave Dwellers.
