🎙️ Episode 100 (October 13, 2025): The War on Gaza Ends — But the Lessons for America Are Just Beginning
(Your (almost) daily update from The Nate McMurray Show: The Sound of Niagara Podcast)
The war in Gaza is over—but the way they’re celebrating, you’d think they just won World War II. Let’s be honest: this wasn’t a victory. This was an agreement to stop a genocide, to stop bombing a trapped civilian population into dust.
And yet, they’re calling it peace. No. Peace isn’t what happens when the bombs stop. Peace is what happens when justice begins. And justice isn’t coming from the people who dropped the bombs — it’s coming from those who survived them, from the people of Gaza, who endured everything and refused to disappear.
It only ended because the world stood up — because millions protested, because ordinary people said, “Not in our name.” That’s what made the difference. The endurance of Gaza and the outrage of the world forced this moment.
Then I shift gears to talk about something closer to home — the Buffalo Bills deal. I said it before, and people hated me for it, but I’ll say it again: it’s a scam. I know how to pander. I could say “Go Bills” a hundred times, and people would cheer. But real loyalty means telling the truth. Public money got funneled into private hands while communities struggled. It’s the same story everywhere — power protects power, and the little guy pays.
Let this moment — in Gaza and in Buffalo — remind us what happens when we stop paying attention.
And before I go, a quick announcement: I’ll be near Canandaigua on October 18 for Rock the Boat: Get Out and Vote, with Aaron Lipp and friends at The Woods. Come out for music, community, and hope. Democracy only works if we do.
