
In 2013 Mosa Meatโs Chief Scientific Officer Professor Mark Post unveiled the worldโs first cultured meat hamburger. This was the result of years of research and cost โฌ250,000. Since then Mosa Meat has gone on a mission to develop a cleaner, kinder way of making beef.
Global meat production is due to increase by 70% by 2050. The production of beef is one of the major contributors to greenhouse gases, deforestation and agricultural land use. There is also concern about the high levels of antibiotics used in modern meat production.
