The Missing Found is an investigative true crime podcast that focuses on missing person cases in the Black community that are left unsolved and cold. Statistically, African Americans receive far less media coverage than our White counterparts. According to The Black and Missing Foundation, in 2021, African Americans make up only 13% of the United States population, but our missing person percentage sits at 37%. It’s impossible to report on every case of a missing person in the country, but the divide between us and other races are severely disproportionate when it comes to media coverage. To challenge this, we started The Missing Found podcast to bring light to cases deemed unsolved and cold to offer a renewed perspective with only the hard facts, breakdown every case detail, and the possibilities thereafter. We thank you for your viewership. We look forward to conducting comprehensive analyses into the unsolved missing person cases of those who look like us.

The Missing Found
Case Episode 16: Celina Mays: A Family Secret. 12 Years Old, 9 Months Pregnant, and 27 Years Missing. Who Made Her Run?

C A S E D E T A I L S On Sunday, December 15, 1996, in Willingboro, NJ, 12-year old Celina Mays was home preparing for bed and spending what we now know is her last moments on record. Just hours before, she attended church, had ice cream with her family, then went to bed around 11:00pm.

Celina was an expectant mother, being nine months pregnant. She was due in only two weeks. In just her 12 years, Celina had a complicated life. Her family structure was curated in a way where she had very little access to the “outside world”, making this case narrowed down to those in her small world.

One out of the many elements in her case that was strange is the last words she said to a relative before she went to bed. Though, it may mean something or all of nothing, it is important to note. It leaves people wondering if she chose to leave and disappear because of her circumstances or did someone make her disappear. Was someone harboring a secret, a family secret? I would describe this case as convoluted, layered, and protected. You will soon find that this case has three sides to it. What the public knows and what was done in secret…then, the truth. So, what happened to Celina on the late evening of December 15, or early morning of December 16, 1996? Could it be that she up and left while pregnant, or is her disappearance connected to someone else; possibly a secret, a family secret or a cult? The Missing Found
Part 3 - 15: Diamond & Tionda Bradley | The 20 Year Lie that Changes Everything | The Missing Found

C A S E D E T A I L S On Friday, July 6, 2001, at around 6:00am, on the Southside of Chicago, Tracey Bradley, the mother of 3 year-old Diamond Bradley and 10 year-old Tionda Bradley, had left her two daughters home while she went to work that morning. The girls' sister, Victoria, had a birthday on the following day. Their two sisters, Rita and Victoria, spent a night with their grandmother. Sadly, neither Diamond or Tionda would be there to celebrate Victoria's birthday. Once Tracey returned home from work just before noon, on July 6, she was met with a complete and startling silence.

Recently on an Investigation Discovery special on the Bradley sisters, we learned some intriguing news. We learn new information from Tracey that changes the direction of the case.

The Missing Found
Dear, American Culture: The Glamourization and Obsession with Murder, Missing People, and Tragedy

Dear American Culture, America has an obsession with true crime as entertainment, until it happens to their loved one. That’s when it’s no longer entertainment. That goes for everything that happens until it happens to us. Your contributions are very much appreciated. Gwen Ifill coined the term, "missing white woman syndrome". The term refers to the mainstream media's seeming fascination with covering missing or endangered white women, and seemingly disinterested in cases involving missing people of color.
