Ian Rogers – Ledger CXO on Web3 Adoption, User Experience, Vinyl Collecting and More | Martin Hyu Show Ep.25
I just got back from Paris where I attended Ledger Open. Fantastic event and great announcement from the team with their new hardware wallet - the Ledger Stax which I just minted. I’m so happy I got to meet and chat with the CXO of the company who happens to be the guest of today’s episode - Mr Ian Rogers.
Ian has had quite the parkour career-wise to say the least. He’s worked in music tech since the mid 90s and built some of the earliest music-related websites. Throughout the years, he’s worked with a wide variety of companies: some OG ones such as Winamp to behemoths like Yahoo! as well as Apple after they acquired Beats Music - where he served as chief executive. At Apple, he spearheaded the iconic brand into music streaming services by successfully launching Apple Music (you might have heard of it). Seeking a new challenge shortly after, Ian joined the LVMH group as Chief Digital Officer with the intention of developing the luxury conglomerate’s online retail presence. After 5 transformative years at LVMH, Rogers announced his new position (and current position) at Ledger as Chief Experience Officer. Ian is a real rockstar at heart. I got so much wisdom and insight talking to him. We go deep into user experience, adoption, his vision for what Ledger will bring in the coming years. True to his music background, we also talk about vinyl collecting and much more. I had such a blast recording this. Ian is a genuine, curious, passionate but most of all compassionate human being with a wealth of knowledge.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it. If you can take an extra 10 to 30 seconds to share your thoughts and review the podcast, it would mean the world to me :) If you like what you hear, hit that follow button!
