Welcome to episode 2 on aliens! Are aliens real? Should we be worried about them? Does the Bible talk about aliens? What about UFO’s? Has the government been lying to us the whole time. Aliens, Aliens, ALIENS!!!
In this second episode I will be responding to a video from a Holiness pastor, claiming to provide answers for confused Christians and pastors surrounding holiness issues. Although, his claim is to provide answers and shed truth, he does none of that. The goal of this video is to expose the errors spoken by Brent, and also to clear up many Biblical errors. This is meant in love, and hopefully will be received as such. Hard things are said, but the hope is redemption and reconciliation. If Brent would like to reach out to me personally he can reach me on Facebook.

“Many Christians have a basic desire to live a holy life, but have come to believe they simply cannot do it. They have struggled for years with particular sins or deficiencies of character. While not living in gross sin, they have more or less given up ever attaining a life of holiness and have settled down to a life of moral mediocrity with which neither they nor God are pleased.” The Pursuit of Holiness Does salvation ever feel like a struggle? Holiness feel unattainable? In this video we discuss what it truly means to leave the kingdom of darkness for the Kingdom of God. Often our response to becoming a Christian is reactionary, rather than provisional. We think we must react to the world around in order to avoid all its temptations and snares, rather than rest in the security provided us in Christ. Now, we must resist temptation. That's a given. There is a warfare to fight. We would do well to remember, that Satan was defeated by Christ at Calvary. So, when we are saved we don't just switch sides. We enter an eternal kingdom of righteous, peace, joy, and victory. Rejoice O' Christian! You are victorious in Christ!
With everything to consider when we discuss holiness, the single most important thing is Christ. It is only because of His holiness that we can achieve any degree of holiness.
Before we can really consider our own personal holiness, we must consider the holiness of Christ. That’s what were talking about on todays show, so stick around!
In todays episode I will be responding to a popular holiness podcast that discusses holiness standards, specifically the issue of hair length for men and women. This particular episode was full of misleading, misogynistic, false, and sometimes outright cultish tactics. I pray this episode is a blessing and hopefully answers some common objections raised by fundamentalists preaching when it comes to this difficult passage. Three things to remember when reading this setting of Scripture are submission, distinction, and worship. The Bible is a book intended to be both read and studied. This is an example of a bad reading of scripture, leading to bad study, and ultimately bad conclusions.
If you are interested in doing better study I have three book recommendations for you:

Welcome back to the Lost Mission Podcast. After an extended sabbatical I am back with an all new series on holiness. This series is called "Pursuing Holiness". We are going to tackle the real issues of what holiness is and how it functions in the life of a Christian. The resource for this study is the incredible book "The Pursuit of Holiness" by Jerry Bridges. In this episode I will tackle the question "Is Holiness For You?" Maybe your questioning the holiness movement, or have just left a fundamentalist background, but still have a desire for biblical holiness. If that is you, then stick around. This show is for you!

In this episode we briefly cover chapters 5 and 6 of Galatians and see what answer he provides for legalism. The answer is simple. Be led by the Spirit! Aaaand stick around to the end for an update on the podcast.
In todays episode I interview Dr. Stephen Boyce on the topic of legalism. We discuss the nature of legalism, share a few laughs, and he gives some helpful insight for thinking through the extremes of law and liberty. Enjoy the episode!
In chapter 4 of Galatians Paul is going to remind the Galatians that since they have been saved, they should not return to elementary principles of the world. In this video we are going to answer four basic questions about the chapter. 1. What is the heir? (v. 1-7) 2. Is slavery to the world better than slavery to the law? (v.8-10) 3. How does legalism affect brotherly love? (v. 12-20) 4. How are Abrahams sons an illustration of legalism and liberty? (v. 21-31) One of the dangers of coming out of legalism is the temptation to become progressive, or deconstruct our faith entirely. The reality of faith is that it strips away everything but Christ. So then, legalism is not the answer, but neither is "worldliness."

In chapter 3 of Galatians Paul is going to give three different arguments for why justification is by faith alone. These arguments are: A Personal Argument A Scriptural Argument A Logical Argument At the end of these arguments he is going to show how legalism is a prison, because all who live under the law, are living in bondage. Enjoy the video.

In this second part of our series on Galatians and legalism we'll be looking at how Paul deals with legalism inside the church at Galatia. His surprising encounter with the apostle Peter highlights how the modern evangelical church, specifically the holiness/fundamentalist groups should deal with legalism in their churches today. Enjoy the episode!
In this first video on Paul's epistle to the Galatians we are going to look at a few claims made within the Holiness Movement, and see if they are what we would consider legalism. We are also going to give some background as to why Paul wrote Galatians. Who were the false teachers? Why was he so upset about their apparent apostasy? And Paul's claims that there is no other Gospel. Enjoy the video!
What is Christian Science? Today I give a brief overview of the history and origins of the cult of Christian Science. I discuss it's founder, Mary Baker Eddy, her mentor P.P. Quimby, her many ailments and what the church looks like in modern culture. Enjoy the episode!
The rise and fall of the cult of David Koresh and the Branch Davidians in Waco Texas is one of the most well known stories of modern Christian tragedy. But there's much more to the story that the siege of April 19, 1993. Much more. What started as a split from the Seventh Day Adventist church evolved into a sad tale of death and destruction. Today we discuss the humble beginnings and fiery end of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas
The Seventh Day Adventists have a long history of doctrinal errors. In this episode I discuss their views of the Sabbath, The Mark of The Beast, The Investigative Judgment and more!
Who are the Seventh Day Aadventists? Are they a cult? Are the Christian? Are they somewhere in between? In this epsode I give a brief history of the origins of this group.
