Laura graduated from her BA in fashion design in 2016, has lived and worked as a luxury fashion designer in both Paris and London, before returning home in 2020 (hello COVID) to start her own sustainable fashion business (hello Studio Minti) from her bedroom. With much success, Studio Minti has grown into more than what Laura had originally anticipated and she shares her story from start to present, giving us insight to the ups and downs in between.

HELLO! I am probably the most nervous, anxious and excited about this episode so far. In this episode you'll get to meet me and hear my story (as well as meeting my mum!). I wanted to be as honest and blunt as possible, about the good and the bad of my career so far, as this really is the basis of me starting The Local Honey Project and Podcast. We talk about how creativity in childhood influenced where I am and what I do now, I give an overview of my short time working in design and how that lead to so much worry, discomfort and fear about the future. I discuss how leaning into this discomfort catalysed my pathway into my current job working for a social enterprise in textiles and I also explore other practices which helped me reconnect with myself at a time when I felt very lost and afraid.

Yay! Hi! Do join myself and Caoimhe Hill for some design based chats, but also some non design based chats. Hoping there is a little something in here which resonates with everyone. Caoimhe is an Irish fashion designer who has worked in Industry in both New York and London. She has experience which spans luxury fashion & high street. Her work focuses on high-quality, durable and environmentally conscious garments. Her most recent work, as featured in The Irish Times, "The Re-Generation Project" highlights the mass consumption and resulting waste from the fashion industry. She creates a garment from her friend's unwanted clothes while utilising the craft of hand crochet. The work was exhibited at the LIC in New York.
