Episode 12: Growth Mindset: The Key to Happiness, Confidence, and Achievement in Your Child

In this mini episode we provide you with an introduction to the topic of growth mindset. "Growth mindset is the belief that people’s most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. Growth mindset creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment." (Dweck, 2007). Research suggests that a growth mindset leads to increased happiness, confidence, and achievement, among other positive traits. We share two quick tips for encouraging a growth mindset in your child:

1. Model growth mindset statements

2. Praise your child's efforts instead of inherent characteristics

For more on this topic, check out our new course: "Fostering a Growth Mindset Through Language, Literacy, and Play". https://www.languageliteracyplay.com/courses-1ea4bc2d-686f-4405-ad5f-247e0250b060

Here's what others are saying about it:

"This is such a valuable topic for parents! I was able to start implementing an immediate shift in my language for my three year old that has already made a big difference. I know this course will help him (and me) to be more resilient and confident!" -Laura, Georgia mom of 2

"I'm so happy I took this course. The strategies are simple and straightforward, and I feel confident that I'm fostering a growth mindset in my children within our daily interactions. I've already noticed my oldest son using some of the growth mindset statements I've been modeling!" -Brittany, New Jersey mom of 3
