Janet Biehl is the author of many books and articles, a copy editor, and a graphic artist living in Burlington, Vermont, in the United States. In the late 1980s she became involved with the Left Green Network in Vermont, and for more than two decades, she advocated the theory and politics of social ecology. Janet has been tirelessly working to support the Kurdish freedom movement throughout the 2010s. She is more recently the main character of a documentary film called "Road to Rojava." She is also right now working on a graphic novel about her time in Rojava and northeast Syria. In this podcast, we will talk about both the film and the book and in general her work in Kurdistan and how she became introduced to the Kurds and the Kurdish movement.
