This week begins with the Venus Cazimi, also known as the Venus Star Point - a rebirth moment where we’re invited to realign our values, self-worth and sense of purpose. As Venus meets Mars, commitment is asked to meet action, bringing opportunities to practise boundaries and self-care rather than slipping back into people-pleasing or self-abandonment. Later in the week, the Mars Cazimi brings a reset of willpower and motivation. Alongside this, Venus opposing Jupiter expands our values and sense of worth, with Jupiter in Cancer asking us to reflect on what feels like home. The week closes with the last quarter moon in Libra, inviting release of what keeps us out of balance, before Venus square Chiron highlights old wounds around worth. This Christmas week brings a quieter but incredibly potent energy, as though the sky is giving us a little bit of a break. With Venus squaring Neptune and then moving into Capricorn, the invitation is to release unrealistic expectations, especially around relationships, and to lean into compassion, togetherness and understanding. Many people are exhausted, sensitive and on their knees at the end of this year, so this energy asks us to soften, to see through illusion and to allow the day - and each other - to be exactly as we are. This week marks the final days of Scorpio season and brings us the Scorpio new moon - the perfect time to sit with and meet our shadows. Your shadow self is made up of all the parts of you that you try to hide, suppress or deny. These are the parts you judge, see as weakness, feel embarrassed about, or simply don’t want to face.
Anything within us that doesn’t align with the image we want to show the world often gets pushed into the shadows - the emotions, desires, and beliefs we fear to express, the words we’re too afraid to speak. Our shadows hold such power when they stay hidden, keeping us afraid of anyone else seeing them. But when we turn on a light in a dark room, the shadows don’t seem quite so frightening anymore.
